IT'S FRIDAY, MY FAVORITE DAY!!
Well, here I am, a little late but I am here.
We had to run into the valley on Thursday. My high school class has started having its monthly luncheons once again. We had had to postpone them for awhile because of Covid but then we thought "What the heck, let's go for it!" and we decided to start them again. There were about 15 of us that came and it was nice to see everyone again. While Dave was in the men's restroom, he took a picture of an "etiquette" sign on how to use the urinals! Maybe you have to be a man and a golfer to fully appreciate it, but I thought it was funny.
Since Dave was scheduled for another chemo infusion on Friday, we decided to spend the night in town instead of driving all the way home and then back again the next day. That's what got us so messed up with the Journal scheduling. Anyway, his PSA seems to be going down each time; This time it was a smaller decrease, from 44 to 41 but at least it's still going the right direction.. The nurses up there are so caring and they really make his 4-hour stay enjoyable. The other photo is taken from the 6th floor Chemo ward. This is from the main hospital looking east. As long has you have to be there, it's a pretty nice view.
We also did some shopping while we were in town. Mostly, for Dave. He was complaining that he hasn't any pants that fit him anymore, so we got him a couple of pairs. He also came home with an electric toy train set which he wants to install in the man cave. Boys and their toys! I'll have more on that as the project develops.
We went into Hillsboro to the hobby shop to find the train, but we also wanted to see all the damage of the fire that happened in town a couple of weeks ago. An arsonist started a fire, destroying the Weil's building which was over 100 years old and a lot of the stores on Main Street were damaged from smoke. They have the one block between 2nd and 3rd street blocked off to clean up the mess. They caught the arsonist thanks to cameras set up across the street on other buildings facing the fire. I wanted to see what had happened, because I grew up in Hillsboro and we also lived their for nearly 40 years after we were married. it's such a shame to see the places i grew up with reduced to ashes.
. We had a surprise on Wednesday, I came home from water aerobics and found one of my granddaughters sitting in the living room! Jadyn had the day off and decided to drive down to visit her grandparents. She is such a sweetheart.
This weekend, my ex-son-in-law and another one of my granddaughters, Jordyn are coming down to help clean up some of the yard debris from last fall. There is so much pruning to do and leaves to pick up that I wasn't able to get to before my surgery and now daffodils are starting to come up. It's also Jordyn's birthday on February 1st, She will be fourteen and we plan on taking her to dinner and having an early birthday celebration. I am so looking forward to them coming.
Well, I am really sorry this journal is late. We remembered that we didn't do the journal until over breakfast Friday morning, and then of course everything was on the computer back in Wheeler. I guess we are getting forgetful in our old age!
See you next week, hopefully on time!
