IT'S FRIDAY, MY FAVORITE DAY!!
Happy New Year and I hope you have a healthy and happy 2022!
We had a quiet Christmas staying close to home. I had ordered some turkey dinners at one of our local restaurants and I set the table festively, opened a bottle of bubbly and listened to some Christmas music while we ate. It was nice, but I still missed not having family around!
We had a few flurries of snow this week but the snow plow kept the main street open for traffic. It become pretty slick trying to get up our little street and I am sure all the neighbors weren't happy about that as somehow it's our fault that the city decided to pave the street! They actually got tired of replacing the gravel each year. Dave didn't have any trouble coming and going but he has 4-wheel drive. The view out our windows have been spectacular with peaks of some of the mountains covered with snow. It was also quite alarming to hear the snow sliding off our metal roof, it sounded like an avalanche!
With these cold days and nights, our kitty has decided it is quite nice to snuggle in the warm house. He has been coming in most nights and stays till he meows to be let out or hears someone stirring. What a wild cat he is not!
Dave got quite a surprise in the mail the other day. His cousin, Marta is quite the artist and she sent him a framed decoupage of him in the steamboat. He got quite a kick out of it and plans on hanging it in a place of honor in his cave.
We (I should say Dave) finished putting the puzzle together that our daughter Leslie had given to us. She thought it would be something I would enjoy doing while I was recuperating and since I hadn't done much to it, Dave started in on it. I filled in a couple of pieces now and then but it was rather hard because all the colors blended in. After it was completed, we discovered that one piece was missing It's probably in Leslie's attic somewhere.
Dave had another surprise last week when his cousin Judy Nichols sent him a CD songs that he, his cousin Lloyd and another guy had made many years ago when he was single and living in Alaska. They called themselves the Wine Cellar Three and the music was from the 1960's when folk music was popular. He was thrilled to get the CD and He has given a link so you can hear it if you wish. It's about 22 minutes long.
My knee is coming along, slow but sure. If I can just reprogram my brain to walk without a stiff leg, I'll be fine. My right knee has been hurting for a long time and my body sort of accommodated the difference, giving most of the load to my left leg. So that's what is happening with that. It looks like I will have PT for another six weeks.
Well, that's all my way. Hope you had a great holiday! Again, let's all hope for a better (and healthier) 2022!
