IT'S FRIDAY, MY FAVORITE DAY!!

November has arrived with an array of winds and rain. We did have a nice weekend and I managed to get outside and finish some of my "to do" list. I got the leaves raked up (I think I have done this a few times already) and my heather bushes in the front trimmed. We have had gale force winds this past week so you can't tell I even raked the leaves!

Flag Our flag had seen some windy days and it was time to get it replaced. The flags don't last long down here at the coast. Our last flag was given to us as a gift from our neighbors, the Kahrs because the flag store was out of stock for the size we wanted. The flag that was given to us was gently used and so, by the time the winds and rains got through with it, we needed to get replaced. So, when the flag store had some in stock we ordered a new one. Now we just need to remember to take it down during stormy weather because it is larger than any we have had up there before. Dave took this photo of it using his new drone. We wouldn't have been able to get that angle and elevation without it.

Speaking of out of stock, I have wanted to get a new refrigerator as the one I have is showing signs of needing some very expensive repair. The ice maker leaks, so have disconnected it. We can't make any ice anymore and the freezer part is too small for the old-style ice cube trays. I have had to practically stand on my head to find anything in it and I usually end up taking everything out to find what I am looking for. The refrigerator I want is "still unavailable" and is probably sitting on a container ship somewhere out in the ocean! So, we're carrying on with the old one. At least it keeps things cold, and that's what a refrigerator is supposed to do, right?

My knee surgery is this Monday, so I have been preparing for that, I need to get a Covid test on Sunday to make sure all is well. I got my Covid booster this week, so that is done. The doctor had given me a bunch of exercises to do before surgery, so I have been diligently doing them which will strengthen my leg and knee and should make it faster healing. I am also still taking water aerobics three times a week. Our girls are going to come and stay with us for a few days until I am back on my feet. Leslie is even planning to drive Dave for his VA appointments on the 15th and 16th, as I will not be able to drive.

Not much else happening around here except staying indoors and watching the wind blow and rain, I hope all is well your way.
