IT'S FRIDAY, MY FAVORITE DAY!!
It was a wonderful Father's Day with most of the family here. Jason and Leslie came down Saturday with their boat so that he and Dave could do some electrical jobs that Jason wanted done. Ashtin came later in the afternoon with her dog Bennie while her sister, Paige was still in Hawaii. Then Lara came on Sunday by herself because Greg had the girls for Father's Day. Dave and Jason spent all of their time working on the boat, while the girls just hung out. Leslie washed the boat and two cars and I got my watering done. We had three dogs here and what a riot! With Ashtin's Mountain Poodle and Jason and Leslie's two Silver Labs, it was a houseful. We didn't see our cat for three days! Ashtin left on Sunday as she is dog sitting all week and had to get back for that. Leslie left on Monday as she had to get back and go to work. She took one of our cars to go home because Jason stayed with us 'til Wednesday.
We rode back to Salem with Jason to pick up our car because Dave had an appointment with the VA for an ultrasound on Wednesday afternoon. We were racing to get to the VA after making a wrong turn. (We usually come in from the other direction). It really didn't matter as, after we got to the VA, he had to wait 30 minutes before they did the ultrasound which took five minutes! Go figure!
On Thursday, Dave took off to Newport to meet up with Jason to go fishing. Jason brought the boat over from Salem so they could see how it ran after all the work they had done over the weekend. Ashtin and Paige came along for the trip. Of course they had to go fishing while checking the boat. They were fishing for Halibut, but all they hooked was this big Skate and of course they threw that thing back. I had to go to the dentist in Hillsboro to get my teeth cleaned on Thursday, so everyone was someplace else that day.
Today, I actually get to stay home with no company. Wheeler is having kayak races and other festivities on Saturday. Dave is supposed to announce at the festivities that day, but he's also signed up to be the docent at the Historical Society Museum, so I'm not sure which one he will end up doing. I am just going to watch the kayaks from my front window. I can't get too excited about kayaks as I have never been in one and I know that if I did, I would never be able to get out! But there are a lot of people around here that love them and we see them on the river all the time.
That’s what has been happening our way! I hope you are enjoying this fine Summer weather that we are having.
