IT'S FRIDAY, MY FAVORITE DAY!!
It seems like the month went by fast, it was a wonderful April and mother nature was kind to me as I was able to get some yard work done that I would have had to wait until May.
I have been busy doing some touch-up painting in the apartment before our tenant moves in this next weekend. She brought over most of her furniture in a U-Haul last Sunday. The only major thing we haven't finished is the deck because the weather was rainy for awhile. Now that it has turned nice, maybe soon.
We got our taxes figured out (fingers crossed). We had filed with Turbo Tax and they came back rejected for the second time. We finally called Turbo Tax to figure out where we had gone wrong. Well, it turned out that we filed our taxes last year but they didn't get mailed. We thought Turbo Tax filed them electronically, but it appears they didn't, so after we got that straightened out, we tried again. This time we sent our taxes for 2019 and 2020. I am sure we will have to pay a penalty for being late.
Well, our granddaughter Paige decided that she didn't want to be a Duck anymore. She sat on the bench - so frustrated - for most of the soccer games and watched other players on her team who don't seem to be as good a player as she is. It seems the first-year coach didn't like her because he hadn't recruited her (the former coach had) so she and he didn't see eye to eye. She hunted around and if everything falls into place, she will transfer to Gonzaga this fall. They promised her that she would get some playing time. Gonzaga had offered her a soccer scholarship last year, but she decided to go with U of O. I hope they still think as highly of her now as they did then.
I am writing this journal early this week as we are headed to Salem on Wednesday and going up to Mt. Vernon, Washington (north of Seattle) with Jason and Leslie to pick up their new boat. They invited us along and we are ready for a road trip. We both have been working hard around here and need a break.
