IT'S FRIDAY, MY FAVORITE DAY!!
Well, it looks like March is leaving like a lamb. We have had some very sunny days, but rainy days too! I was able to get outside and get some yard work done this week. I had bought some fuchsia starters for my hanging baskets and some sweet peas. They will stay hanging in the greenhouse until it gets a little warmer outside. It's a little early to think about a vegetable garden as we are still getting some frosty mornings.
I decided to wash my dirty windows the other day, but just the upper ones. They were so dirty it was hard to see outside. I still needed to wash the windows in the basement but I needed Dave's help. He is good about taking the screens off and on for me. With a daylight basement, I have always done the front windows - the ones that are easily reachable from outside. This time, we decided to try to clean the ones in the back - the ones that have a window well to let in light from ground level above. After removing the plastic covers (that are there for privacy) and a lot of old cob webs from the metal corrugated window wells we were ready! It took us a couple of hours but the windows are clean - inside and out - once again. But wouldn't you know it, the rain came back. Sometimes I wonder why I even try!
Sorry, but I don't have any pictures to share with you this week. In fact, we are posting this early as we are leaving on Thursday to go to an early Easter dinner and celebrate Jadyn's 18th birthday at Lara's. Trying to find time for that was like herding cats and as it turned out, it was the only time we could all get together with everyone's busy schedules. After dinner, we will head down to Salem to spend the night with Leslie and Jason so we can attend the U of O soccer game in Eugene Friday afternoon. The Ducks are playing Utah and Paige got some hard-to-come-by tickets so we could attend. I am so excited about going and I hope she will be able to play in the game. Afterward the game, Paige wants to show us her apartment in Eugene and then we will go out to dinner to celebrate her birthday, which is next weekend. We'll celebrate this week because she will be traveling to Washington for games next weekend and won't be around.
On our way home from Salem on Saturday, we will stop at the discount lumber yard in Salem to purchase some cedar to build a deck in front of the church. This should be the final project before we are completely done. Our tenant will be moving in a month from today on May 1st.
Well, I hope you all have a wonderful Easter. Take care.
