IT'S FRIDAY, MY FAVORITE DAY!!
So, what's new with us? I am still recovering from my two falls last week. I really bruised up my knee plus the other bruises that I have on my body. I haven't been doing much.
We did have the Alexander's (Jason, Leslie and Sterling, their dog) down for the weekend, after Paige's soccer game with Oregon State (Ducks won). Ashtin arrived later with her dog Bennie. Bennie is still a puppy (7 months) so he wants to play with Sterling a lot. They have a good time chasing the ball, playing tug-of-war and just bugging each other. Of course, our cat leaves, he doesn't like dogs!
Paige wasn't able to come down as she has soccer practice every day. She doesn't get to play very often which she isn't used too, but she did get to play in the Oregon State vs. U of O game. She really gets frustrated with the coach, but she is only a freshman and she has to prove her talents before he's going to give her significant playing time.
While the Alexander clan was here, they helped with a few jobs that we can't manage on our own. We had a water leak so that was the first thing on the agenda. Dave had noticed the water out by the road for a couple of weeks but since it has been so wet, he just figured that it was run-off from all the rain. On closer examination over the weekend, he discovered that it was a broken water main and our water meter has been spinning like crazy. Jason and Ray fixed it and Dave talked to the city to see if we can catch a break on our next water bill. Otherwise it's going to be huge!
Our yard light was out and Dave wanted to replace it with a more economical LED. Leslie climbed up the ladder and did that project for Dave. She has threatened to put him in a nursing home if he tries to go up any ladder! Anyway, the LED light is a lot brighter than the old one we had and we had to blacken most of it out so the light won't bother the neighbors. Go figure.
Jason also helped Ray (our friend who is helping with the church apartment project) install the new front door. Wow, what a difference that makes. Juan from Luis' crew, has been down a couple of times finishing up with the sanding, mudding and painting of the walls. Our new tenant will be moving in the 1st of May, so we are getting there.
It's Spring Break down here so we are having a lot of tourists. One of our granddaughters, Jaysa has been invited to go with her friend's family to Hawaii with them for a few days. I told her to grab some sunshine and bring it home to us.
Dave hasn't been able to get much done on any of his projects this week. There have been a lot of interruptions. About the time he thinks he will have time to work on a project, somebody will drop by or - like yesterday - he had an appointment to get some lab work done in the morning. What we thought would be a couple of hours, ended up being most of the day. It's very frustrating.
Well, that's all our news; we hope all is well your way.
