IT'S FRIDAY, MY FAVORITE DAY!!

Jeannie Hi everyone, happy fall ya all! I had a wonderful time this week as my sister Jeanne came to visit from Colorado. She moved back from England last spring but I haven't seen her for a couple of years and it was nice to get caught up.

We picked up Jeanne at the airport on Monday and we went over to Lara's to visit with her before we headed back down to the coast. The granddaughters were all home and their Zoom classes had just finished for the day so we had their undivided attention.

Group This week Jeanne and I did a little antique shopping and I took her down to Freddies for some groceries. We had decent weather for awhile so it wasn't bad to be out and about. On Friday we took her to our First Friday Scones get-together where she got a chance to meet some of the locals that we hang out with. We also had a drive to Pacific City to have lunch with a friend of hers this week. From there, we drove on down to Lincoln City to the mall for a quick look-around. So many of the shops are boarded up so we didn't stick around. On our way back, we took the drive around Devil's Lake which, in all my years living here, I had never seen before. On Monday, we had a couple more stops to make, on the way to Portland to take Jeanne to the airport, we stopped by Jason and Leslie's for lunch and then we had an appointment to visit my older sister, Judy in the memory care facility. Unfortunately, Judy was asleep the whole time we were there, so it wasn't much of a visit. They didn't want us to wake her up as she would get agitated. I really felt bad that we weren't able to communicate with her. After we dropped Jeanne off at the airport, we decided to spend the night in Forest Grove as it was getting dark and we don't like driving home in the dark.

The rest of this week I have been recuperating as I am not use to so much activity.

Framing the cave The crew has been down for a couple to days working on the church apartment. The plumbing is nearly complete and now they have moved on to building Dave's new cave. You may have heard the story about how he lost his "Man Cave" to the apartment construction when we needed to turn it into a bedroom. He staked out some space on the main floor of the church but wasn't planning to do anything down there until the upstairs was closer to completion. But there was so much stuff stored down below that they decided to frame the cave so that they would have a place to store building material until it is needed. We have had as many as 5 people putting in insulation and sheet rock in the apartment, so I have been busy at the stove cooking meals.

Busted train We did have a little excitement this week too. The passenger train that comes by here on the weekends to take people on trips to see the autumn colors, lost a wheel right in front of our place. It took them a couple of days to get that repaired and back on the track.

Also, next week I am scheduled for my other eye cataract surgery. I sure can tell the difference on my first eye and hopefully when the doctor fixes the other eye I should be able to see pretty good without my glasses. That will feel strange as I have been wearing glasses for 40 years!

I hope everyone has a nice week.
