IT'S FRIDAY, MY FAVORITE DAY!!
Let's see, what has been happening in our neighborhood.
Lot of smoke and fog this week, it is like a giant blanket and sometimes we can't even see past the deck. But, we did have a heavy rain and a small ocean breeze came though which helped reduce the smoke but it still isn't healthy to breathe.
We did manage to go out last Friday and celebrate our 55th wedding anniversary. We had some errands to run up north so after a stop at Costco and Home Depot, we drove up to Astoria and had dinner at the Bridgewater Bistro. It is hard to believe that we have been married for that length of time.
The rest of the week, we have been staying at home out of the smoke.
Dave decided to run for re-election to City Council, so he has been busy making up flyers and along with our daughter, Leslie, making yard signs. He has been on the council for 13 years and this is the first time that he has people running against him. He also is going to do a video to explain his views and why he should be re-elected. I admire him for doing this but it can be stressful at times.
Meanwhile, I have been getting caught up with my reading since I can't be outside working in the yard. The latest book that I enjoyed was called "The Last Flight" by Julie Clark, which is about two women, two flights and one last chance to disappear. They change flights and take on the other person's identity. I would recommend it.
That's it for this week. Short, but sweet. Take care of yourselves.
