IT'S FRIDAY, MY FAVORITE DAY!!
What'cha up to? It has been one of those weeks for me.
Tuesday, I had a dental appointment to get my teeth cleaned. They have a new procedure when you arrive at the dentist. They ask you a bunch of health questions then take your temperature to see if you are running a fever. Anyway, I had a new dental hygienist this time and she was really complimentary on how clean my teeth were, That"s before she cleaned them! So I got a star for my dental hygiene.
On my way back home, I stopped at the cemetery in Hillsboro to check out my mother's gravesite. The cemetery is well taken care of so I was happy about that. I also wanted to check to see what the flowers that I had ordered looked like. Today was her birthday and I always send flowers in her memory and for her birthday. I have other family members buried there so I stopped at all of them, my grandparents, father, and my mother's father.
I also did a couple of errands while I was in town, stopping at the bank and going to Costco before I headed back. It was after 4:00 before I got back home.
Luis has been down most of the week working on the church apartment. He is doing the bathroom first. There will be a shower, toilet, vanity sink... He got most of the sheetrock installed. It is kind of exciting picking out all the things for this addition and I can hardly wait to see the final results.
I went to the doctor again on Wednesday with my knee. I am in still a lot of pain and haven't felt like doing much. The PA was going to drain the water off my knee to see if the cyst would go away. Well, my regular doctor had given me a prescription for water retention and told me to ice it three times a day. By the time I got back to see the PA, a lot of the swelling had gone down and so instead of draining the fluid, he gave me a couple of steroid shots in my knee. It is amazing how much better it feels and I don't even know I had a cyst. So happy I am feeling better!
Those weeds around here have been calling my name and since I am able to get around better, I worked out in the yard and got a lot of the weeding done this week. Then I got the flame thrower out and torched the small weeds in the driveway and in the pathway. Now I feel a lot better and feel like I am making a little progress.
An update on my lemon tree. The lemons (all 7 of them) are still growing and maybe by Christmas they might be able to be harvested. They are so tiny right now that it doesn't seem possible that they will grow into regular sized lemons. After nurturing them along this far, I'm not even sure I could bring myself to harvest them, although I know that I need to if I want to get a new crop. Anyway, I will continue to post updates on the progress of the little guys from time to time.
Dave had the steamboat painted a couple of weeks ago and had to get new letters for the name replaced on the sides. He thought it was going to happen last Friday, but the sign guy told him that the area where the lettering was going to go needed to be re-painted as well. The painter had just painted around the old letters. So, off came the old letters and a new coat of paint was applied to that spot as well. He was finally able to get the lettering done yesterday. The old girl looks pretty sharp and this afternoon the guys are going to launch her so that she can be fine-tuned in the water. Keep your fingers crossed!!
No more news my way, hope all is well your way.
