IT'S FRIDAY, MY FAVORITE DAY!!

Hi out there! I hope you are staying healthy. All is fine down at the beach, we have had some pretty heavy rains (our weather station even told us that, "It's Raining Cats and Dogs"), but then, we have had some sunny days too. This weather wants me want to work out in the yard and get my veggies planted. Maybe this weekend will be the time, as I heard that the temperatures were going to be in the eighties. We got into the mid-70's yesterday.

Garden Garden We took a drive into West Linn on Monday to deliver the wood we had picked up for our granddaughter Jadyn to make raised beds for her garden. When Dave heard that the city was going to replace all of the raised beds in the community garden, he put his bid in for the old wood. About half of it was still in good shape and so we loaded those pieces into the trailer and delivered them to Jadyn. It felt good to actually go somewhere other than to the post office and grocery store. While the garden beds were being put together, the grandgirls and I went to the local nursery and picked up a few veggies for Jaadyn's garden. I was also able to get some tomatoes for myself. We didn't stay long after that, as we needed to get back home. Last night, we received another picture showing her planting her garden, so it didn't take long after we put them together for her to get started.

Elk We have had the pleasure of the Elk this week. They stayed out on the island for a few days grazing on the spring grass and sleeping. They are such magnificent animals. The boredom is such now that I am sitting at the window, watching Elk and giving the birds at my feeders names. We have a lot of birds around here that come to the feeders. The latest is the Raven who I have named Edgar as in Edgar Allen Poe. He comes every morning to see me. We have a new family of Sparrows living in one of our birdhouses too, and the mama bird has been busy bringing food to the babies. I can hear them when they are awake.

We got together with some local friends on Sunday afternoon. Everyone met and we kept our social distance while we drank and chatted about how much we missed each other. It's more fun to interact with someone face to face rather than by Facebook and phone. I really miss not being able to socialize with friends.

Well, that is about all the "news" going my way. Have a nice Mother's Day, even though we won't be able to give hugs.
