IT'S FRIDAY, MY FAVORITE DAY!!

First of all, a big shout out to two special birthdays today! My granddaughter, Jadyn and my sister, Jeanne, both have birthdays today. Happy Birthday to you and may all your wishes come true!!

Collage It's been quiet around here and we have been hunkered down and only leaving to get the mail or go to the grocery store. Times have really changed. On Sunday, Dave and I decided to venture out and take a drive to Warrenton to load up at Costco. On the way there, which is a good hour's drive from our place, we didn't see very many cars on the road. We are talking Highway 101 which is always heavy with traffic. It felt strange like I too shouldn't be out and about. We saw a lot of signs reading "stay home" and blocked roads to state parks, even Cannon Beach had a sign "Closed".

Elk As we got to Costco, we gave a sigh of relief to see that the parking lot wasn't filled with too many cars. So we entered, got the things we needed and headed back home. They had lots of toilet paper stacked to the ceiling, but no cleaning products. Oh well, I came home and ordered a few things on line and hopefully won't run out before this is all over! As we got into Seaside on the way back, there was a lot more traffic but it didn't seem to bother a herd of elk grazing on the football field at the Seaside High School.

Collage I do have an admission to make. Although we are being very careful about unknown exposure, we do have Luis and Jaime here doing some work in the church for us. For the most part, we're in the house (or Dave in the shop) while they are spending most of their time in the church, hanging insulation in what will become the grandgirl's "She Shack" at the opposite end of the space where Dave's "Man Cave" is. We are all being very careful to maintain at least a six-foot spacing from each other and we are limiting the time we are together to mealtimes only. We think we are okay doing this and the guys are comfortable about it too.

I also made a run to Fred Meyer this week. I picked up a few necessities along with some Fuchia starts and sweet peas. When I go to Freddies, I always carry in my own bags so they don't have to use their's when they fill them. But when I was ready to check out, the person who usually fills the bags disappeared. It was only then that I found out that when you bring your own bags, you have to fill them yourself! After filling five bags worth of groceries, I was ready to take a nap!

I have been watching my little seedlings sprout and have moved them to the greenhouse where the natural light is better. I potted my Fuchia starts and am waiting for the weather to get a little warmer before I plant the sweet peas.

Dave One of the things we did this week was to finish our taxes and get them sent off. After our CPA quit doing personal taxes last year, Dave decided that we could do our own with the TurboTax program he uses for his business. It worked out okay last year and so I let him have the lead on doing the preparation for this year although we worked together most of the time. Even though we now have until July 15th to file, we went ahead and sent them off on April 1st.

One of the other things I did this week was to clean out Dave's car. It was so dirty and grimy inside, so I vacuumed and scrubbed everything down. I don't think it had been cleaned for awhile. Another accomplishment this week was to clean out the refrigerator. That needed it too. I have been very diligent about using Clorox wipes on my countertops in the kitchen and bathroom.

Well, that's about all the "excitement" around here. Take care, stay home and stay healthy!
