IT'S FRIDAY, MY FAVORITE DAY!!

We have had such wonderful (cold but sunny) days this past week that it actually feels like September instead of November. I was able to get outside and work in the yard. I got all of the leaves raked up which took me most of the week. I wish that was the end of them, but there are more to come!

Railing I haven't been doing anything exciting this week. Dave and Ray have finished the stair rail on the church and it sure looks nice. It is a duplicate of what we have in the house because there was a lot of that ornamental metal scrollwork left over from when the house was built. It has been rattling around here ever since then and we wanted to use it somehow. Since we needed a better guard rail in the church, it was a natural.

MOB Dave has been having play rehearsal each night this week so has been getting home late. Wednesday night was their first performance which was actually the dress rehearsal but anyone could come and watch it for free. Dave said it wasn't perfect, but they were pleased with the way it came out. The actual opening night is tonight. Dave has been working really hard on all his lines so I hope the play turns out great. The leading lady fell and broke her elbow so she will be performing with a sling on her arm. I am going to take in the Sunday matinee along with a group of my friends.

I had to drive into Cloverdale to the Monkey Business Nursery to pick up the Hinoki Cedar trees that the Park Committee had ordered for the park on Wednesday. I thought the trees were going to be a lot smaller than they were but I was able to cram three 4-foot trees that weighed 30 pounds apiece into the back of my car. We stuck the trees in the ground in the bark dust pile until the ground at Waterfront Park is ready for their new home. That should be next week (I hope).

On Thursday, Dave and I drove into Portland as Dave had two doctor's appointments and lab work at the VA. Before that, we met Lara for her late birthday lunch at The Chart House. Since the appointments weren't until later that day, the VA got us a room to spend the night. We usually stay with Lara, but we have to kick her out of her bed and she ends up sleeping on the floor in one of the girl's rooms. Since the hotel room was free, it just made sense to do it that way. We came back home today so we could be here for First Friday Scones and opening night of the play.

Daylight saving time is coming to an end. Remember to "Fall Back" on Sunday and set your clocks back one hour.

Well, that's the news my way. I hope you had a happy Halloween!
