IT'S FRIDAY, MY FAVORITE DAY!!
Brrrrr! It was so cold the other night, even my feral cat wanted to stay inside. The temperature has dropped sooner than usual for around here so we are scurrying around trying to get everything under cover. Dave moved the steamboat in the boat barn for the winter and put most of the equipment away that he had out. I brought my lemon tree inside and my Christmas Cactus (which is loaded with blooms and will probably be all done blooming by Christmas) in from the greenhouse. We still have to drain the fountains and cover the hoses.
We drove into Hillsboro on Tuesday as Dave had a check-up with his VA doctor. Our appointment was for 12:30 and it was well after 1:00 before he saw us. So then, it was a quick turnaround as Dave is now on the Historical Society Board of Directors and they were meeting later that day at 3:00 in Manzanita. I had to drop him off on our way home because there wasn't enough time to go home and then come back to Manzanita. He got a ride home after the meeting.
It was a beautiful fall day in the Coast Range as we drove back and forth from home. The trees are starting to change colors and the sun was out. We have a little tree out by our driveway that is putting on its fall colors too and it is so beautiful.
We had our Parks Committee meeting on Thursday and Dave was trying to get all the doggie bag holders completed so he could show them off at the meeting. He almost made it, but there was still some wet paint, so he had to settle for taking this picture of them. We painted them yellow in hopes that people would be able to see them. As soon as he finishes them, we can hang them in the parks. They are turning out really nice and everyone was pleased with the photo. Now if the dog owners will just use them when they bring their dogs to the park!
My bedroom drapes finally got here. I had ordered them from an outfit back east and when they got here the first time, they were floor length, not window sill length. Because of all that, it seems like it has been forever since I ordered them. I didn't waste any time opening the box to check them out to make sure they got it right this time. Fortunately, they did. Dave volunteered to get up on the ladder and hang them and now that they're there, I have to say they look real nice. It will also be sweet to actually have some curtains on the windows instead of having them open for the whole world to look in.
Sorry this is so short, but that's about all the news our way this week.
