IT'S FRIDAY, MY FAVORITE DAY!!

There is not much happening this week around here. It was the first week of autumn all ready, and I love this time of year. The garden is winding down and the leaves are turning. I even heard the wild geese practicing their flight pattern as they prepare for their trip south for the winter. We have had our share of rain this week too. It seems that September has been wetter than usual and it's not that we don't need the rain but it sure is hard to get anything done in the yard. I still have a lot I want to do and as much as I love this time of year, I'm not sure I'm ready for the warm and dry weather to end.

Collage Speaking of the rain, it was pouring outside last Sunday morning when Dave woke me to tell me that he had a text message from Jason and Leslie to meet them down at Garibaldi to go fishing. So he packed up his rain gear and headed out for the day. They started out in a popular fishing hole on Tillamook Bay that is almost guaranteed to get fish. But by the time they got there, no one was catching anything. So, they went out along the jetty out by the ocean but the weather turned bad on them and they were bouncing around all over the place - and certainly not having any fun. So, they called it quits. So at the end of the day - unfortunately - he returned empty handed because even the fish were staying out of the rain!

We were without power all day on Tuesday. The PUD was changing the telephone poles in front of our place and had warned us that the power would be off from 10-4 that day. Unfortunately, 5:00 came and went and we still didn't have any power, so Dave and I went out to eat that night. While the power was out, Dave got our generator fired up to see if it still worked and he was able to get a couple of odd jobs that required electricity done. It was also good to check out the generator with foul weather just around the corner.

Thursday was a busy day as we attended my high school class luncheon in Hillsboro. While we were in town, we swung by to find a new sports jacket and pants for Dave. He doesn't have anything that fits him anymore. He usually isn't one to want to go clothes shopping but it was his idea to do this and I'm not complaining. Primarily, he wanted some new clothes for the play that he is in, but you never know when the occasion calls for him to dress up now and then.

Dave” WIDTH= Dave has been practicing and memorizing his lines for the Riverbend Players theater production of "Moon over Buffalo". He had until yesterday to have the first act memorized, and luckily for him, he is playing a minor part, so he doesn't have that many lines to commit to memory. I have been doing my part to help him. When we went into town yesterday, we spent a lot of our driving time with me feeding him his cues so he could recite his memorized lines back to me. It helped him learn his lines and it made the trip go a lot quicker! The play opens the first of November. I admire him for tackling this project as I know that I would never be able to remember my lines. I can hardly remember what day it is!

I don't know what's the matter with me lately as I have had a bad case of the butterfingers. Just this week alone, I broke a plate and a glass from my everyday dishes. Luckily, the patterns are still available so I ordered some replacements online. It's nice to know that I can still get replacements and finding them on the computer makes it so easy.

We are having some friends for the weekend. George and Margie Blackman from Redmond are coming over. George wants to go fishing with Dave and Margie and I will hang out and get caught up with what's been happening in our lives. We are looking forward to having them for a visit.
