IT'S FRIDAY, MY FAVORITE DAY!!
Hope everyone had a nice Easter; we certainly did. We left on Saturday for West Salem as we were invited for an Easter celebration at Leslie and Jay's. We left a day early as Dave wanted to help Jason with a couple of projects. Jason's boat trailer had some wiring issues and the puppy had chewed the wiring on their new bed that had to be repaired. It's sure nice to have an electrician in the family.
For dinner Saturday night, we ended up at this place called the Yard which is located in Salem. It is this huge building with tables and chairs inside and on the outside of the building are all these food carts. You go around and order what you want and then when it is ready they either call you or give you a pager to let you know when your order is ready. I ordered a Mexican salad that was really delicious while the kids ordered Greek food.
We had about 22 family members show up for dinner on Sunday. They were mostly relatives of Jason's but my daughter, Lara and her girls were there. Jason fixed ham and lamb and I made a couple of pies and the famous macaroni salad. Jason's mom brought green beans, rolls, an angel food cake and brownies. We had more than enough to eat and I ate so much food that I wasn't hungry again for two days!
And what is Easter without bunnies? Leslie and Jason's grand-niece showed up with two baby bunnies and she and our granddaughter Jadyn couldn't resist showing them to us. And Dave got this shot of Jason with Chip and Sterling doing what we all felt like doing after that huge meal!
The week started out with showers and clouds but by Wednesday, the sun finally arrived. I have been working out in the yard, slowly making my way around the house. I am good for about two hours and then I have to call it a day. I have been contemplating putting in my vegetable garden, but it is still a little too soon. I usually wait until the middle of May.
I had something really strange happen to me this week. After working out in the yard, I came in to make lunch when I had this really unusually uncomfortable feeling. It was so uncomfortable, that I ended up going to the Urgent Care to find out what was happening. It felt like my lower chest and stomach area was tightening and it turned out to be a gall bladder attack! I never had that before and I don't think I would like to have another one. I made an appointment for an ultrasound and to see my doctor next week.
Well, that's all the news my way. I hope you are enjoying the nice weather and spring flowers.
