IT'S FRIDAY, MY FAVORITE DAY!!
Spring is finally here! As they say, March came in like a lion and hopefully leaves like a lamb. Our weather this week has been so nice and warm and it gave me an opportunity to get outside and get some "play in the dirt" time. I had planted some seeds in my little incubator a couple of weeks ago and I am happy to report that all but the parsley sprouted. As soon as they grow some "true" leaves, I will plant them in the ground.
I wrote last week about our son-in-law, Jason catching two very nice Ling Cod from a charter boat out of Garibaldi. When he went home after the trip, he didn't get all of his fish so he asked if we would go pick up what he had left behind. Dave went down there and picked it up. I cut it up and sealed it for him and put the bags in the freezer. But I kept a few little pieces for us and we had wonderful fish tacos with fresh cod! Thank you, Jason.
Also, as a follow-up to one of the things I was writing about last week. Dave had the metal fishing boat flipped over to get ready to paint the bottom. He was tired of scraping barnacles off the bottom, so after he scraped the barnacles off (hopefully for the last time), I helped him paint the bottom of the boat with anti-fouling paint. This should discourage any future barnacles. We spent the day Wednesday getting the primer coats applied. It really was a lot of work, but it sure does look better. He will apply one more coat of paint over the sealer and then it should be good to go.
The play that Dave is in opened last Friday and over the weekend, they had three very well-received performances. At least that's what I heard as I won't see the play until Sunday. I like to go to the final performance on Sunday and then afterwards attend the cast party. It seems that's all people are talking about - that very funny play. I have some pictures - but I can't post them until next week to avoid giving away one of the funniest scenes. Dave has two more performances this Saturday night and then Sunday afternoon.
We met Jason at the Tillamook DMV office on Thursday morning to get the license plates switched on the two Jeeps. The old Jeep that we sold to them had the Disabled Veteran plates and we need them for the new Jeep. However, after arriving at the DMV, we were informed that we couldn't do the switch because they hadn't verified the registration. So, Jason made a trip to Tillamook for nothing. We took him out to lunch for his efforts. As soon as the registration is verified, we will try again.
GIVE ME A BREAK!!
I haven't sounded off in a long time about one of my pet peeves, so here I go. As you are well aware, every health clinic, hospital, etc. has to have an on-line record of your health. Since Dave has several doctors and goes to various clinics, he has quite a few of these "My Chart" (he has three of those), "My Health Connection", "My Health eVet", etc., and each one requires your user name and a password. We have a long list of all our passwords so we can remember them all! Anyway, I have a few of those on-line records too. Every time I try to log-on to look at my medical charts, I have trouble and can never get it to work. Why can't they just hand you a piece of paper with all that information on it when you leave after your appointment? It sure would save me from having a melt down every time I try to log on!
Okay, I have finished my rant. I hope everyone is enjoying this nice weather and spring flowers.
