IT'S FRIDAY, MY FAVORITE DAY!!
It's been a rather stormy week so I have been spending most of my time indoors, although we did have a break in the weather and was able to work out in the yard one day this week. I got a lot of the Hardy Fuchsias and some of the ferns cut back and raked up the leaves that had fallen from all the wind we had.
It was First Friday scones last week and our usual bunch gathered at the North Coast Recreation District to have coffee and fresh scones that the group leader makes. The scones are different each month so it's always a pleasant surprise. We sit around eating scones and drinking coffee, talking about what's on our minds.
After scones, Dave had an appointment with the Ford dealer to get his windshield wipers fixed. I talked last week about one of them flying off in a wind and rainstorm we had. We had made a trip up to Warrenton last Wednesday, only to find out that the parts weren't there yet. They could have called us and saved us a trip that first time! Anyway, the parts had finally come in on Friday, so that is done.
On Saturday, I met my friend, Patricia Welch at La Tea Da for lunch of fresh soup, scones and tea (of course). This is a little place in Tillamook just for tea parties. People bring their children along for the experience. The shop also has many young people as waiters and we were quite impressed to have an 11-year old wait on us!
While I was in Tillamook on Saturday afternoon, I attended a town hall meeting with our Senator, Ron Wyden. He answered questions about what is happening in D.C. and anything else of interest. There were quite a few people who attended that. By the time I got back home it was 6:00 p.m. and Dave and I decided to go out for pizza.
We had bought a new television that was on sale at Costco to have downstairs in our guest bedroom. Dave and our contractor friend Ray got it installed. They had to rerun the cable wires through the wall from outside so it took a couple of days to complete. The job isn't quite complete in these pictures. Ray is making a shelf that hangs under the TV to hold the cable box. When we get it, those wires won't be draped across the wall. We have to run to Tillamook today to get the cable box and then hopefully I will give the room a fresh coat of paint.
We had to move the cedar chest out of the way in the guest bedroom to give the guys more room to work, so I decided to take a look inside. What a time I had going down memory lane! There was all kinds of stuff in there, some of Dave's things (his first pair of shoes), some of our girls things (a Cabbage Patch doll) and my mother's wedding dress for instance. It was fun and I decided to just shut the door on the cedar chest and let our daughters deal with it later!
That's about all that is happening my way. I hope you are having a wonderful new year.
