IT'S FRIDAY, MY FAVORITE DAY!!
Not much news around here. I still have my cold and a cough and finally on Monday when I had had enough, I went over to Urgent Care to see the doctor. He gave me some meds and I have been taking them all week and am beginning to feel human again. Meanwhile, Dave was coughing up a storm, so I sent him over to Urgent Care the next day. It turns out that he has Bronchitis and he too is on medication. The good news is that we both got some good medication and it took effect right away. So between the two of us, I think we are on the mend. Boy, this stuff is sure going around. It seems like everyone we know has had it or has it right now.
We had to go see Dave's neurologist this week and he gave him another prescription to go along with the Neupro patch for his restless legs. Hopefully, that will help. The patch was good at the beginning, but lately he has really been suffering with that syndrome. The doctor is hopeful that adding this to the mix will give him some relief. After the doctor's appointment, we ran some errands before we headed for the Blazer game. We went mainly to the game to see old friends that Dave had worked with at the games. Everyone was glad to see us and we them. Among others, we got to see Bill Schonely who did play by play for the Trail Blazers for years and who Dave has known and worked with for nearly 50 years. Rich Patterson was part of that broadcast team and so it seemed only appropriate to get a photo of the three of them at the game. Then, after sitting (and standing) through the first half of the game, we decided to leave and head over to Lara's in West Linn to spend the night. I enjoy going to the games but they have the seating rows so close together that there is no place to put your legs. Then, when you have to stand to let someone through your row of seats every time they want to go get a hot dog or a beer over and over and over... I bet we had to stand to let someone in or out a dozen times. And that was just in the first half. I have decided it is much better to just watch the game from the comfort of your living room. Why do people pay good money to come to the games and then are up and down all evening during the game going for drinks and snacks? Why don't they stay settled until there is a break or something?
On Thursday, after breakfast, we ran a few errands. Dave had a big list for Home Depot, so we spent some time there. We also attended my high school class luncheon which is held once a month. There was a huge crowd on hand yesterday and Dave and I got the last two seats. After lunch, we headed for home.
I have to tell the story of the selfie stick. After we went to Europe a few years ago, we wished we had one of those things so we could take photos of ourselves rather that one of us taking a picture of the other. We got one from the kids after we got back, but never really used it. Dave got it out to take some pictures a couple of months ago and discovered it wasn't working - most likely from a dead battery. It turns out the thing takes some oddball battery size and we couldn't fine one anywhere here at the coast. So, he went online to buy one. That one never did arrive, so we made a point to try to find one when we went to Portland. After several dead ends, we finally found the right battery. We came home with it yesterday and when Dave went to replace the battery in the selfie stick, the battery compartment cap on the stick was missing! All that grief over the battery, and now we couldn't use it anyway! I tried one last place to see if I could find the lost cap and - guess what! - I found it! So, we took this picture to prove that we are actually able to take a photo of the both of us at the same time! Now - if we can just keep from losing the selfie stick...
Today, we are making a trip to Warrenton, so I can get my Jeep serviced. I keep getting notices in the mail that I need to do that before the warranty runs out. After that, Dave has an appointment to see a cardiologist about his poor circulation in his legs. That appointment is in Beaverton and hopefully, we can make it back home at a reasonable time after that.
Hope everyone is healthy.
