IT'S FRIDAY, MY FAVORITE DAY!!

Rain, rain, go away, come again some other day! I am so tired of this rain all of the time. I am frustrated more than anything that I can't get out in the yard and get something done.

Since I can't get outside, I have been helping Dave with his project of rebuilding the flatbed trailer. He is down to the box he has been building to mount on the front of his trailer. I let him do the painting on this one. After he finished doing that, we then moved on to the last thing, painting the wheels. He wanted to paint them without removing the tires from the rims so we had to come up with a plan. He removed each tire and then before he painted them he placed a cardboard shield around the tire. I cut a hole the size of the rim in the center of the piece of cardboard then we taped that over the tire. We are so creative! Anyway, it worked and he got all five (including the spare) painted.

Jordyn

We had to run into Portland on Thursday to see Dave's neurologist about his RLS - just a follow up to see how the medication is working. We also took the opportunity to take our granddaughter Jordyn out to Red Robin for her delayed birthday. Then it was back home to get ready for our trip to Seattle this weekend to attend the Northwest Steam Society's annual meeting. Jan

I have to take a moment here and talk about our granddaughters. Ashtin and Paige are playing basketball for Silverton High School. They've had a successful season this year and played in the state quarterfinals Wednesday. This picture of Paige is one the Salem Statesman Journal used in their coverage of the game. Silverton won that game easily and advanced to the semifinals against the one team they have not been able to beat this year - Corvallis. They played that game Thursday night and it went three heart-stopping overtimes before Silverton won it 37-34. We were listening to the play-by-play on the computer and almost had heart failure ourselves! So the Foxes will play for the championship tonight!!

Other than that this week has been the usual, water aerobics and watching it rain. My arthritic knee has been bothering me so that has kind of put me down, but other than that all is fine.
