IT'S FRIDAY, MY FAVORITE DAY!!
Well, February is history and March has arrived. I hope with a little less rain and more sunshine. There were lots of things happening this week.
Most of the granddaughters were doing their thing. Paige was in Seattle playing at a soccer tournament for the Thorns Academy, they won one game and tied the other, Jadyn scored well as she was performing her dance routines for StarPower at the Exposition Center in Portland and Jaysa was busy with her gymnastics. Jaysa received overall 5th place in the meet. She has been working really hard to perfect her skills. I wish I could have been there to cheer them all on, but I am sure I would have been worn out.
Sunday afternoon, Dave and I took in a performance of "Curious Savage" by the River Bend players in Nehalem. We managed to see their final performance. It was a cute play and the actors did a pretty good job.
We had the frame of the man-door in the Boat Barn replaced this week. The frame was rotting away from the weather but the metal door was still in good shape. We found a place in Bay City that would replace our old frame and re-assemble it using our old door. The new frame is made of vinyl so it shouldn't rot like the old wooden did. The the hardest part is trying to square the door which they did. I had previously painted the moldings around the door so they were ready to be replaced. The whole job took our friend Ray about 2 hours and it looks great!
I have to take 9 hours of Master Gardener's classes to get re-certified and so I spent all day (6 hours) on Thursday in class listening to a lecture on plant diseases. I usually have the classes done by now but one of the classes I was going to take was cancelled because of the weather. I will take another 3 hours next week and then the session will be over. It seemed like every Thursday when the classes are held, something would come up and I would have to miss out. I don't know why I bother to re-certify, other than the fact that it is nice to take some refresher courses and they are free.
Well, that's about all there is down in this neck of the woods. It is still raining and maybe a snow flake or two by this weekend. Maybe because March is coming in like a lion that it will leave like a lamb. I sure hope so.
