IT'S FRIDAY, MY FAVORITE DAY!!
Not much happening this week. The weather has been so cold that I stayed hunkered down inside. I tried getting outside to rake up the rest of the leaves but I about froze my fingers off. I managed to find things to do inside however. I finished a book I had started and I also cleaned out the refrigerator. If I get in the mood, I need to purge the files and then get ready for tax season (ugg).
We had our microwave die on us the other day. The thing was almost 20 years old so we got our money's worth. I didn't realize how much we relied on it until we didn't have one. Just to warm up a cup of coffee would have been nice. We broke down and bought a "cheap" microwave at Home Depot. We will use that one until "someday", I hope to get a new built-in oven/microwave. I think our water heater is next to go. It's getting so that we have to plan who is going to get to use hot water and then give the old thing a chance to recover. So if it isn't one thing, it's something else.
While I have been keeping warm inside, Dave is still working out in his shop in the boat barn. He is trying to insulate it, but it is real expensive so he is doing it ten sheets at a time. Once it's insulated, we'll think about heating it, but until then, he has to come inside and get warmed up every hour or so. He comes in - gets his hands warm - and then he is right back at it again. Oh well, it keeps him busy.
We haven't worked on the church lately because it has been too cold. But as soon as it gets just a little warmer, we will be back out there. Dave has his flatbed trailer frame parked in there right now. He wants to paint it when we get to about 50 degrees - it takes forever to dry when it's colder than that. I have to finished cleaning the attic and we have to remove more sheet rock (yeah, you heard me right) that is in the alcove and move a bunch of shingles and stuff that we had piled in front of the doorway. This is absolutely the last of the sheet rock and it will be the fourth time we've been to the dump. I will be so glad when that part of the job is complete.
We don't have any pictures this week. It has been just an ordinary week. Hopefully, I will have something more to write about next week.
