IT'S FRIDAY, MY FAVORITE DAY!!
So here we are - the month of March is almost over. It is sure hard to believe how fast time goes by.
We headed into Hillsboro last Saturday to attend my cousin Jack and his wife, Sharon's 50th Wedding Anniversary celebration. It was hosted by their neighbors and they had quite a turn out. Except for relatives, most of the people were strangers to us, but it was a fun day and the sun even stayed out for the party. We drove in from the coast and it was a steady stream of cars heading west for the start of the spring break. Dave counted 60 cars in one stream. It was just as bad going back too with just as many cars, so we just got in line and took our time getting home.
On Sunday, Leslie and Jason and their two girls came down for the night. They mainly came down to pick up the mattress that we didn't want. The mattress is less than a year old and is like brand new, but just too soft for Dave and I so we gave it to them. It rained most of the time while they were here but it was a relaxing time watching the NCAA basketball games, snoozing and getting caught up with their lives. Leslie had brought their dog Chip who was treated to a manicure while he was here. Leslie borrowed her dad's rotary sander to do the job and Chip didn't mind at all! It quit raining by the time they were ready to leave. It took all four of them to get the mattress loaded on the truck but "project mattress" made it safely home and up the stairs to their bedroom.
Meanwhile, Lara and her three girls were enjoying the sunshine in Southern California for their spring break. Lara drove down to visit with a childhood friend and they had a great time. They went whale watching and one of the sights they took in was Hollywood. They arrived back home on Wednesday and then off they went the next day for the Mountains and snow. You talk about a complete turnaround!
We drove into town on Thursday to attend my class luncheon. We have a get together every month and it is always fun to see the old gang. There weren't a lot of them this time and it seems like every time we do meet, we discover that we are getting to be fewer and fewer. We had a classmate pass away this week.
After the luncheon, Dave and I had an appointment with the accountant to get our taxes done. This is one of the worst jobs in the world as far as I am concerned, but it has to be done. After leaving there, we ran a few errands, bought some groceries and ate dinner before we headed back home.
This Easter Sunday we will be with family at Leslie and Jason's in Salem at their new home. Leslie bought a bunch of new furniture and we are anxious to see how it looks since the only two times we were there, we were helping them move in or there was a houseful at a birthday party. I hope everyone has a blessed Easter and enjoy the day with family and friends.
