IT'S FRIDAY, MY FAVORITE DAY!!
What happened to autumn? After all the wind and rain we had last weekend, I am beginning to wonder! We were without power for about an hour and half and no sooner did I get the clocks corrected, we had another glitch come along just enough to mess up the clocks again so I had to do it twice! But as a whole we faired pretty well through the high winds and down pour. The yard didn't look so good though with huge branches everywhere from the Walnut tree that had blown down and debris all over the place. That took a couple of days to clean up that mess and I did that between rain showers. I also managed to fill up the trailer with stuff.
A couple of weeks ago, Dave began getting what he has been calling the "yips" for lack of a better term. His hips and legs have been almost like they're on fire - very sensitive. It has really been painful and has kept him up most nights so in order for him to get some sleep and me too, I took him to urgent care where the doctor gave him a pain pill. Well, the pain pill managed to knock him out most of the time but some of the side effects were lack of appetite and confusion. He has lost more than 20 pounds and is still confused. Anyway, he had a doctor's appointment last Tuesday where they took some blood tests. The doctor was concerned mainly because his blood pressure was very low and he was really clammy. The doctor wants to run more tests on him to find out what is going on with him. Of course all of this comes after he thought he bruised his leg really bad a few weeks ago. In fact he had such a bruise that he ended up getting an ultrasound to make sure he didn't have a blood clot. As a result of this series of exams they've determined that the bruise on his leg that has been hurting so badly is because of a ruptured calf muscle. They're not related, but we're still keeping an eye on both issues. So I will keep you posted on his progress. As a result of all this, he's had to get other people to work the Blazer Broadcasts, and I know that's driving him crazy too!
The sun is shining once more. You have to be a true Oregonian to appreciate when the sun shines around here. So maybe there is hope for autumn after all. I took a picture of my little tree that is showing off the fall colors. I managed to get outside in the yard and dig up my Japanese Irises so I can divide them. What a task that is trying to divide those plants. I almost needed an ax to separate them. I managed to divide one bunch and got ten pots replanted with Iris starts for our Garden Club plant sale next May. The deer have been busy eating away at what is left of my garden. I had managed to harvest most everything so there wasn't much left. They have also eaten some of my plants too which makes me a little frustrated.
UPDATE: Dave has been diagnosed with cancer. I may not be able to post on here for awhile
