IT'S FRIDAY, MY FAVORITE DAY!!
It really isn't Friday, as I have to post this a day early because the webmaster (Dave) isn't going to be around. He has a couple of Blazer games to work in Portland and I am staying home this time.
We had a great weekend. Friday night we invited Donna Kahrs to join us at the Tsunami Grill for dinner. Des was out of town. We wanted to try out this new place in town as every time we have driven by in the evenings, it has been packed with people and we have been hearing great reviews about the food and prices too. The food lived up to all the talk and there were so many people that we knew. We sat down at a table and before we knew it, there were two other couples joining us. That was in addition to two other groups that we knew and didn't have room for at our table! Dave ordered the six piece fish and chips and he got 10! He could hardly finish it! In fact, the guy at the next table later told us they were betting whether or not he could finish his plate. I had the Yakisoba noodles with chicken and it was very good. I think it's a pretty safe bet to say we'll go back again. It is nice to have a local restaurant that caters to the locals and isn't too pricey. Most of the places to eat around here are very expensive so we don't feel we can afford too many nights out.
Sunday after breakfast, we headed into West Linn to attend Jordyn's second birthday party. She had so much fun being the center of attention and we all enjoyed watching her blow out her candles and opening gifts. She got mostly clothes but she didn't care, it was more fun opening the gifts. We also got her a Mickey Mouse balloon. She loves Mickey and it was the theme of her party. Leslie and Paige came up to join the fun, and three sisters who share childcare responsibilities for her were also there.
We spent the next couple of nights in West Linn. Dave had a Blazer broadcast on Monday night and I was scheduled to get my hair cut on Tuesday morning. After that, we made one stop at Fred Meyer on the way and then it was home. It always feels good to be back at home just to get back into our routine again. I missed my aerobics exercises Monday and Tuesday, but I was back at it again for the latter part of the week. I'm still putting in a half-hour a day on the Wii Fit, so I'm looking forward to dropping a few more pounds before we head out on vacation later this month.
As I mentioned earlier, Dave has to leave for a Blazer game on Thursday and so I have to write this a day early this week. The Blazers play another game on Saturday night so he won't be coming home until after that. I didn't want to wait until Sunday to post this, so here it is. Speaking of Sunday, we don't have any plans for the Super Bowl this year but are planning on watching the game. I always favor the underdog to win, so I guess I'm a New Orleans fan this year. Even so, the only real reason I watch the game is for the commercials. They used to be more entertaining than the game and I guess I'm hoping they will be again this year. Go Saints!
I also set up a Facebook account this week; so if you want to look me up and leave me a message there, feel free.
Thursday morning, just before we posted this entry, we got this picture on the cell phone. Paige is seven years old and has braces! She has had to wear an "expander" for the past several months - something to give her room to move her teeth around - and now they're going to start moving them! Most of us didn't have to deal with this until we were in our teens, but considering how socially traumatic a "tin grin"was at that age, I think it's great that they're getting this out of the way now. So she not only has the expander AND the braces, but will also wear a protective mouthpiece during her soccer games so she doesn't shred her lips when she gets hit in the face! Oh yeah...did I mention the mouthpiece is orange? That's my Paigie!!
