IT'S FRIDAY, MY FAVORITE DAY!!

We came back into town last Saturday because of our next-to-the-last Blazer game (not that I've been counting the games or anything like that). After the game we spent the night at Lara and Greg's in West Linn so we could celebrate Easter together the next day.

J&J tulips cousins While they were at church we were instructed to help the Easter Bunny by hiding all the colored eggs. Lara and Jadyn had colored about 18 eggs so we had a time finding all the places to hide them indoors. They had to be "hidden" but in plain sight. There really aren't 18 places like that in the living room, dining room and kitchen, but we managed. When Jadyn got back from church she was so excited that the Easter Bunny had come and she had so much fun finding all the eggs. Yes, we did write down how many eggs were placed in each room so that we would come out even. Anyway, the Easter basket, toys and candy were forgotten about for the moment while Jadyn excitedly discovered each egg. "Oh look, a pink one and a lelow one, Grandma!" She finally focused on all the other goodies and I think she was on a sugar high all day. Her cousins, Ashtin and Paige came later and we had a nice ham dinner to celebrate Easter. The kids were all "buzzed" with sugar, but played pretty well most of the afternoon. We said our "goodbyes" after dinner and got back down to the coast around 7:00 p.m. Later in the week, Lara took the kids to a local tulip farm were they were surrounded by color. We got a lot of beautiful pictures - this is just one of them.

Sunny walking Our littlest granddaughter, Jaysa is eleven months now and is just about ready to walk. As long as she has a death grip on you she will take steps. She hasn't been brave enough to take off on her own yet. She will be a year old on May 12th and I have a feeling that she will be walking by herself by then.

We were promised good weather all week so I made plans to get some yard work in. As it turned out the weatherman came through and I mowed the lawn and Dave got the Suburban washed. It's been sitting most of the winter, and had a fairly healthy growth of moss beginning to set in. Since we were going to be driving it on this trip, it was in serious need of a scrubbing!

We came back into town for our last Trail Blazer game of the season on Wednesday. The disappointing season has come to a close and I think everyone is glad it is over. Right now, we don't know what is going on with the Blazer organization. The owner wants to sell out or declare bankruptcy and some of the players are disgruntled and don't want to be here next year. It has been a sorry mess and hopefully, this summer they will get everything worked out. We only plan on doing this for another year or so anyway, so it really doesn't matter much to us how they work it out, just that they do. Anyway, as usual at this time of year, we're looking forward to having more free time; it's just the same old thing having to figure out what to do for income with the basketball season over.

Exciting news! Our steamboat is ready to be picked up! It still needs to go in the water for "sea trials" though, so we headed up to Everett on Thursday afternoon. If all goes well, we will be able to tow it back home this weekend. If for some reason you missed out on this whole story, it's all on the "Captain Bell" link on the captainbell.com page. There is also a steam workshop at one of the member's home that we plan to attend on Saturday while we are up in Everett. It should be an eventful weekend.
