IT'S FRIDAY, MY FAVORITE DAY!!

Last weekend was rather quiet around here. We ate up the rest of the turkey soup and finished off the pumpkin pie. We stayed indoors most of the weekend because of all the rain and wind besides I didn't feel like venturing out. Most of the leaves are off the trees so it looks like one more time with the old rake once it decides to stop raining.

photos I spent a good portion of my time shifting through all eight boxes of photos and albums that belonged to my Mom. I tried to break them down into categories and then I hope to put them in books for her to enjoy. What a job that turned out to be. It was fun though and enjoyed going down memory lane looking at old pictures of when I was growing up.

During a break in the weather, I did manage to go over to Nehalem to the annual Christmas Bazaar and found a couple of gifts for Christmas. A cute little Dora printed apron for Jadyn and a little angel pin for my Mom. I wish I was talented enough to do all that homemade stuff, or at least have the time to sit around and make things.

onion snow It has been really cold at night around here and on Sunday morning we woke up to see snow on Onion Peak. It sure was a beautiful site with the sun shining on it. Speaking of snow, Dave and I were thinking about going up to Everett and checking on the repair progress on the "Captain Bell", but the forecast was for snow up north and we just didn't feel like going through that. It is so nice to be able to have that option when you can stay at home when the weather looks threatening. Instead, we drove up to Costco and bought a new digital camera. camera We have been looking to buy a new camera for a long time and decided that that was going to be our Christmas present to each other this year. Now we just have to find the time to figure out how it works. It is a Konica Minolta Dimage Z6 with a 130-page instruction booklet!

lites I dragged the Christmas decorations down from the attic and starting setting things up. I added some starfish and sand dollars to my wreath and made a new yule log from various clippings of cedar, pine and holly that I found out in the yard. I still have to put up the cyber tree and my little "kitchen" tree, but it is only the first of December. There was a break in the weather so Dave got some of the outside lights up on the deck. Maybe by Christmas we will have this place in the holiday spirit.

Because of the threat of snow, we left for Portland on Thursday afternoon. Dave has to engineer a game on Friday night and I have a bunch of appointments on Friday. We will stay in town as we both have to engineer a game on Sunday night and if the weather is fine over the coast mountains, we will come back after the game, if not, we will wait and come back on Monday morning. Besides, I want to work on my Christmas list while I am in town.
