IT'S FRIDAY, MY FAVORITE DAY!!
Not a lot happening this week so this will be pretty short, but here goes.
We drove separately back to the coast on Sunday. No, we weren't mad at each other either. Dave had to bring the motor home back from Portland where he had it parked all summer for the races and I drove the car back.
The weather finally cleared up on Monday, so I worked out in the yard trying to get some of the debris raked up from the previous storms that we had. What a job that turned out to be. It took me two days to get that done and all I have to show for it is a sore back and a pile of leaves! Not only that, there are still plenty of leaves left on the trees so I know that I will probably get to do it again.
I also had to rescue Dave a couple of times from the boat canopy. He had removed the canopy from the boat before taking it to Everett and had used pulleys to hoist it up to the ceiling. He wanted to put the motor home back into the boat barn for the winter and since the bay where that goes has filled in with stuff in the past few months, he decided to put it over in the boat bay - under the boat canopy. Unfortunately, it wasn't high enough to get the motor home under it so he was trying to raise it up higher when it slipped. I get this frantic call from his cell phone to tell me to "come quick". He was precariously positioned 12 feet up on a ladder that was about to tip over with half a boat canopy balanced on his shoulder. I managed to get the canopy leveled out so he could get out from under it. It took the two of us a couple of hours to finally position the canopy high enough to drive the motor home under it. I suggested removing the storage pod from the top of the motor home but somehow that wasn't a good idea.
We had our dear friends, Des and Donna Kahrs over for dinner on Tuesday night. We had a lot of catching up to do and besides it was Donna's birthday. It seems like we have been like two ships passing in the night. We are either gone or they were gone and we finally were home at the same time. We really hadn't had a chance to sit and visit since last summer. It was a fun evening.
After two weeks, the construction crew finally showed up to work on the garage that they had started for Dave's sister, Leanna. Dave had to leave them a nasty call on Monday to figure out if they were ever going to come back and finish the job! He was about ready to chain their equipment to the unfinished barn. Let me tell you, for a barn that was supposed to be started in September and was to be completed in four days, they sure are slow about it. We were hoping that it would be all done by now. I keep forgetting that we are on Coast time. Anyway, the concrete is poured and the sides should go up next.
Wednesday we headed back into town as we engineered a Blazer game that night. Hey, they won! That's two in a row!! They beat the New York Knicks. Not that the Knicks are such a hot team, they have lost all four of their games so far, but a win is a win and we figure there won't be that many of them this year.
I'm writing this from West Linn as we stayed in town for a few days. We have another game tonight and then will hustle home for a visit from Leslie and the girls over the weekend.
Well, I said this was going to be short. Sorry, no pictures this time. Have a good Veteran's Day for those that get the day off.
