IT'S FRIDAY, MY FAVORITE DAY!!
What went on this week? Well, let me see.
We had a Blazer game on Saturday night and Dave had some electrical work to do for some friends on Sunday. Right after he finished, we headed home. I wanted to get the rest of the staining done on the wall bed on Monday so Dave and Ray could assemble it on Tuesday.
I had come down with a terrible cold that I got from my granddaughter, so I literally rose from my deathbed on Monday and finished staining. Gosh, I am glad that is over. Just one more thing to do, a bookcase, and then I hope I won't see a paintbrush again for a while!!
Tuesday morning, Ray and Dave started hanging the bed on the wall. It took them about 4 hours with a lot of pondering. In fact, at one point, they had to call the manufacturer because the bed wouldn't close right. But they got it done, and it really does look nice. One photo shows what it looked like before the construction, followed by the same view last Tuesday. Other pictures from the outside door and from the garage door. All that is left to do in the room are some minor things and we will be all done!!
I decided to blow the leaves out of the yard one more time, but by the time I finished, you couldn't tell. And again, the gods were against me because that very same night, we had wind gusts of about 50 mph and rain. The garbage cans were tipped over and tree branches were all over the yard. I swear I am not going to touch the leaves again until the trees are bare!!
As I mentioned, I have been nursing a bad cold all week and we had to leave on Wednesday for town again as we have three games this week. One on Wednesday night, one tonight (Friday night) the other one early enough on Sunday that we hope to get back home Sunday night. When we got to town Wednesday, Dave had a follow-up doctor's appointment and all of the ultrasound tests showed good results. He has to have another MRI on his brain in three months to see if there are any more changes, but the doctor is pretty confident that the worst is over.
My sister Jeanne flew in from Phoenix on Tuesday night and has been visiting with my older sister and my Mom all week. I met up with her on Thursday morning and we spent most of the day visiting and doing some shopping. I got a few things for the grandchildren for Christmas, so I have officially started my Christmas shopping. I got a few pictures with my sister, but I can't upload them until we get back home. I try to remember to include them in next week's post.
With all this "back and forth" to the city lately, I feel like we are living out of a suitcase. Over the course of the season, we may spend half of our time at West Linn and the other half at Wheeler. It is nice to have a place with Greg and Lara in West Linn, but we still have to live out of a suitcase while we are here. It just makes us appreciate home that much more.
I hope everyone has a nice Thanksgiving. We will be having our feast on Saturday after the holiday as that will work out best for the family. The kids and grandkids will all spend the weekend at our place. I don't know what we'll be doing or where we will be on Thursday; probably go to the Senior Center for turkey soup or something!!
See ya next week!!
