IT'S FRIDAY, MY FAVORITE DAY, even though it's Friday, the 13th!!

It's been another busy week.

It started out last Saturday, when our daughter Leslie and granddaughter Paige came down for a visit. Jason and a buddy were gone fishing and so they had a chance to come down and visit with us. We were so glad they came. Dave needed help with his golf cart and Paige was more than happy to crawl under the cart and take the tire off the cart so Dave could wire the taillight. Leslie also helped and between the two of them, we all had a good time. Leslie went home with a Christmas present that I had ordered and was late arriving. It was a door mat with a picture of their two Silver Labs with a saying, "You don't need to knock, we know you're here!" Their dogs are very good at letting them know when someone comes to the door. And since Paige had her electric scooter stolen at school last Fall, she took one of our old "never used" bicycles to use for transportation around campus. It's probably over 40 years old, but it has been stored inside and it works just fine. Paige leaves to go back to Gonzaga in Spokane next week.

Collage With nothing to do and with all the rain coming down this week, Dave worked on a collage of Lara and Kevin's wedding pictures. Lara had given me some photos of their wedding and so we got some mat paper and Dave made a collage. It really turned out nice.

Dave was to start his Radiation Infusion on Monday, so we had to get his blood tested on Sunday for that. They wanted a blood draw within 48 hours of the procedure to determine his blood count and PSA level. Since the local clinic was closed on Sunday, we went to the hospital in Tillamook to get it done. Everything is closed at the small-town hospital on Sunday, so we had to go to the Emergency Room to get them to do it. The problem there is that we have to compete with the real emergencies just to get the blood draw. It took a couple of hours, but we got it done. So Monday, armed with the lab report, we left the house for his 1:30 appointment. We had made it all the way into the Portland suburbs when we got a phone call telling us that his medicine hadn't arrived and they would have to reschedule. What a bummer! So, we turned around and came back home. A three hour round-trip for nothing. He has now been rescheduled for January 25th.

We have been attending classes on the history of the Nehalem Valley and it is really interesting. Our first class was about the early settlers to our region. The classes are twice a week for six weeks.

As I mentioned, it has been raining and will continue to rain the whole week! We had one clear day, so I was able to finish my lawn raking. I see buds are forming on branches and some daffodils are awakening, so maybe we will have an early spring! I can only hope!

That's about all from this end. I hope all is well your way.
