IT'S FRIDAY, MY FAVORITE DAY!!

Collage It's been a quiet week around here. I got my Christmas cards mailed and I have all the decorations up and Dave has the outdoor lights on, so we are ready to go! I am still working on my Christmas list and there is a bazaar going on this weekend, so I will get some ideas from there.

Rain Damage This last week our renter informed us that there was a water leak in her apartment. She sent us these pictures showing where the rain had come down to the living room ceiling and caused the paint to blister. By this time, I'm asking myself "what else can go wrong"? The car got rear-ended, the plumbing backed up, the kitchen TV quit and we can't get the replacement to work and now the apartment is leaking! We called our contractor friend Luis and he came by on Saturday with Phillipe, who is a roofer. They discovered the leak up on the cupola at the peak of the roof They caulked and repaired some flashing around the roof and hopefully that will work. We have to wait a while until the painter can come and repair the inside damage to the walls. Dave puttered with the new TV long enough that he got it working. We got the sewer line unplugged - after the fourth try - so that is done. We called the fireplace shop to get our little propane fireplace working again. It needed some new parts and now we have lots of heat coming to keep us comfortable in the evening. It's the little things in life that matter, right?

Sofie And speaking of the fireplace making things cozy, look who moved in! That's Sofie Sue, the neighbor's cat. Well, she belongs to them, but she eats here every day. Thursday, she was in no hurry to leave and ended up in my lap for a while and then moved across the room to the couch. She was all curled up there for a couple of hours before I decided she needed to go home before someone missed here over there. I really like her and she can come visit anytime she wants!

Jan Wreath I have been making boxwood wreaths for friends because everyone seems to like them and they last for a few months. They are easy to make and I have plenty of boxwood. I was too busy making wreaths to get a photo, so here's one from a couple of years ago.

Our weather has been cloudy with some mild rain. I did have to cancel my dentist appointment this week because the roads going over the Coast range were a little dicey and I didn't want to chance it. We had a few nice days this week so I got out and raked the leaves in the yard. The little maple tree is almost bare from leaves so hopefully that will be the last time this season. I still have to rake the front yard, but the leaves aren't as heavy there. I had our neighbor kid come over once to rake the leaves and he did a nice job. But I kind of like to rake the leaves too, so I did it myself this time. I get a workout and it gets me outdoors for awhile.

Well, I have rambled on long enough, I hope your holiday is going well. Take care and stay warm!
