IT'S FRIDAY, MY FAVORITE DAY!!

Taylor It's been such a glorious week with so many fall colors and clear sunny skies. We had Taylor, who is our friend's fourteen-year-old son come over and rake up my leaves. Of course, we had a little wind come up later, but the yard still looks a lot better. Taylor also spent some time helping Dave with some of his projects. That kid is a real genius with computers and is learning about robotics. Later, his mother joined us for ribs for dinner.

On Monday I made a trip to Tillamook for a long-awaited doctor's appointment. My doctor had been on maternity leave since July, so we had to get caught up on some of my health issues. I also had to get an x-ray on my knee as I had another appointment with the orthopedic surgeon who replaced my knee last year. I had to see him for my one-year check-up on Tuesday. While I was seeing him, I mentioned the carpel tunnel pain I was having, so he gave me a shot of cortisone. My knee passed inspection and my wrist feels better today, so I think I am good to go for now.

Dave Dave We had to go to Warrenton to Camp Rilea for a PSA blood draw for Dave. There is a small VA clinic there and it is easier to make that trip than run all the way into the VA in Portland. Of course, after that we made some shopping stops at Costco, Home Depot, Harbor Freight, and the Dollar Store. That's another advantage to Rilea, they are all in the same area for shopping. On the way back home, we stopped at Mo's for a bowl of clam chowder and beautiful view of the Pacific Ocean with Haystack Rock.

Letter Dave and I have been working on our annual holiday letter. It seems like Christmas is just around the corner even though we're still waiting for Thanksgiving! I hope to get my cards and the letter out early this year. We intentionally blurred the image because it may change a little before I actually get it in the mail. You're just going to have to wait!

We are going to have a nice visit with one of our exchange students we hosted while our girls were in high school. Merete is from Norway and will be in Portland with her husband and mother-in-law this weekend. They are stopping over on their way to Hawaii where their daughter is attending college at the University of Hawaii. It's been a long time since we have seen each other and we are looking forward to our visit.

That's all the news my way. Stay warm!
