IT'S FRIDAY, MY FAVORITE DAY!!

Jan Jan What a nice week this has been! It feels like fall is in the air and I am ready for it! The weather even feels like fall, with cool nights and sunny days. We even had a hint of rain which settled the dust a bit. I worked out in the yard this week and got some more pruning done. It won't be long and I will be raking up the leaves!

Collage We were looking out the window at breakfast and noticed a flock of pelicans flying in. There must have been a lot of fish in the river as they don't usually wander this far from the ocean. They were so much fun to watch. I had a bunch of scout bees checking out my bait box, but they left. I haven't seen much action around the box for about two months and I had almost given up on them. I sure hope they return as I miss not seeing them out there.

Anniversary dessert We had a great 57th anniversary this week. Dave and I went out to the Bridgewater Bistro in Astoria for dinner to celebrate. The food was very good and we topped it off with some wonderful dessert. They used chocolate to wish us a happy anniversary along the edge of the dessert plate. It seems so long ago when we started our lives together and it has been a great time. Speaking of that, our oldest daughter, Lara is getting married in October. She and her fiance, Kevin seem to be very happy. He is a really nice guy. He lives in Eugene and drives a big truck during the week so they only see each other on the weekends. She will continue to live in West Linn until her girls have all grown up and then they plan on building a house in Salem.

j-fish Our son-in-law, Jason was out fishing in the ocean the other day and caught a 55 inch long halibut! What a catch! The fish was almost as tall as he was! He loves fishing and spends a lot of time out fishing since he has retired. He is always giving us some of his fish that he catches. Leslie and Jason celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary this week too.

Dave and I are doing well. He is through with his Chemotherapy treatments and is waiting to hear what the doctor will do next. His PSA level has dropped a little and that may determine their next move. I went to the doctor the other day because my hand has been going numb, especially at night. So the doctor determined that I have Carpal Tunnel Syndrome in my right wrist. I now have been wearing a wrist brace at night and that seems to help. Otherwise, we are both hanging in there.

Take care everyone!
