IT'S FRIDAY, MY FAVORITE DAY!!

After all the adventures we had last week, going to White Salmon and Seattle, this week has been pretty quiet. It was good to be home and be back to my routine.

Leslie Now, for this week, our daughter Leslie came down on Thursday night and is spending some time with us. She hit the ground running as soon as she got here and painted my bathroom Thursday night. She will also tackle some other things around the house that needs doing while she is here. She works for the Salem school district so she gets spring break along with everyone else. She made a valence for my utility room and we will hang that too. I am making her a box wood wreath and hope to dig up some day lilies for her to take home.

Between the rainy days, we have had a couple of nice ones so I was able to get out in my garden. After I replaced some of the old dirt with new soil in my beds, I planted some snow peas and also some sweet peas. It's a little early for planting anything else. I always use Memorial Day as my guideline as I know we should not be getting any more cold weather. Now, if only I will be able to keep the slugs at bay.

We made a trip to the valley on Thursday (before Leslie arrived) to attend my high school class luncheon. About a dozen of us try to get together once a month for lunch in Hillsboro. Dave is having a class reunion this year and is on the organizing committee and so he had a meeting later that day. I took advantage of him being tied up with the committee and I took off to do a little shopping while I waited for him.

As I mentioned, it's spring break and the traffic is pretty heavy. We had a bad mud and rock slide on Highway 101 four miles south of our place last week. The traffic had to detour on an inland road until they could get that cleared up. It took them a couple of days before they opened the road to one-lane traffic. It sure was quiet around here with no traffic on the road in front of our house.

Well, that's all that is going on around here. As I said, for the most part, it's been an uneventful seven days. Hoping you have a nice week.
