IT'S FRIDAY, MY FAVORITE DAY!!

It sure feels like spring around here, the flowers are blooming, the birds are singing and the sun is shining (for awhile).

I brought some garden soil for my raised bed and was able to get the garden covered. I won't be planting anything yet, but I needed to get started. I will plant some peas soon though. The peas don't seem to mind the cooler weather.

I am writing this journal a few days early as we are going to be away for a few days. Thursday we will drive up to White Salmon and spend some time visiting with Dave's cousins, Pat and Connie. We have to go to White Salmon anyway and drop by the attorney's office first to pick up some papers. We had our wills and trust drawn up by Pat's husband, who was a lawyer, but he passed away a couple of years ago and his son took over the law firm. We received a letter from the son who wants us to come and pick up the documents. He is tired of storing them. That suits us just fine. We really didn't want him as our attorney anyway. We are, however, looking forward to our visit with the cousins. We never seem to spend enough time doing that, and none of us are getting any younger!

On Friday, Dave has his fifth chemotherapy treatment at the VA Hospital in Portland. We are hoping that the chemo will continue to do its job and that his PSA levels continue to drop. Then Saturday, we get up bright and early to catch the train for Seattle. The Northwest Steam Society is having their annual meeting and luncheon. The train schedule works out so that we can make it up there and back the same day. However, since it will be late when we get back to Portland, we will spend another night in town and Sunday we will come back home.

Tunnel” WIDTH= Tunnel Dave has been busy working on his train project. He had decided he wanted a small electric train in his "Cave". He has some of the tracks mounted and is now drilling holes in the wall to make tunnels so the train will detour through the bathroom. I know, I know. But it keeps him busy, so I don't say anything. He has, along with his friend Jim, also been working on building a wooden scale model of our steamboat. Jim comes over every Sunday afternoon and they spend a couple of hours on the project. Jim wasn't able to help last Sunday, however. He has a son who was living and teaching school in Moscow. So anyway, his son left Moscow when all this trouble began between Ukraine and Russia and is back in Oregon now, safe and sound. This invasion has touched so many lives and I hope they can come to some sort of agreement soon.

Well, that's about all my way. I am hoping all is safe and well your way.
