IT'S FRIDAY, MY FAVORITE DAY!!

It was another interesting week our way.

Last Friday, we had to make another trip into the VA, as Dave's cancer infusion treatment that he was supposed to get on Monday had been rescheduled for that day. So, while he was doing that, I headed over to visit with our daughter, Lara. After lunch, she showed me all her pictures that she took of her recent trip with her three girls to Costa Rica. They had a wonderful time. After picking Dave up after his treatment, we headed back home. He wasn't feeling too sharp for a few days after that from the reaction from the treatment, but he seems to be fine now.

On Sunday, we met up with Leslie and Jason in Newport where they moor their boat and went out deep sea fishing for Salmon. This was the first time I had been on his new boat. That boat has everything, including a galley and head besides radar, depth and a fish finder. You can't get lost, that's for sure. It was a crazy day out there. At one point, we had two fish on the rods at the same time and that was just after we had caught two others that were still flopping around on the deck of the boat. We all caught our limit of Coho (two fish apiece), plus losing a couple and having the throw a couple back because they were native fish which we couldn't keep. It was a little foggy but I still managed to get a little sunburn. It was a great day of fishing.

Des, Rich

Since we had so many fish, I put some in the freezer and invited our neighbor, Des and his friend Rich for dinner. Rich was here for a week to help Des work on his property. Donna was in Idaho visiting her sisters. Of course we had salmon and it was delicious. I hope to smoke some of the salmon.

I had an interesting experience. The last time I went to see my doctor, she took the usual listening to my heart and discovered that I had an extra heart beat. I had an EKG in her office, which was fine but to make sure everything was okay, she wanted me to have an Echogram. So on Monday, I had that done. I got to watch my heart beat through a monitor and go through all the procedures that you have to do. Anyway, it was very interesting and I should know soon if there was a problem. The doctor just wanted to make sure that everything was okay, which is fine with me.

Jerry

Dave took a picture of our cat Jerry, who was all curled up in his bed on the deck. He doesn’t sleep in it very often, so it is nice that he enjoys it every once in a while. Most of the time, I don't know where he sleeps during the night, but lately he has been wanting to come in the house. That's okay, but he tends to want outside around 3 a.m., which is a little early for me to get up. He softly meows to let me know it is time to go check outside for awhile and then he will be waiting at the window later for his breakfast.

We were supposed to have our delayed 60th class reunion in a couple of weeks, but it's been delayed again because of Covid 19. That darn virus, I wish we could get it under control. If everyone would wear a mask and get a shot, I think we could get rid of this once and for all.

Dave and a steamboat buddy of his are headed for Toledo, Oregon for a Wooden Boat Show this weekend. Harv brought his boat as far as our place last night and they will take it down there and steam on the Yaquina River for a couple of days. Harv's wife Kim is usually his deckhand, but she couldn't make the trip this time so Harv asked Dave if he would like to do the job. Dave didn't need to be asked twice, so I'm trying to figure out what I'm going to do this weekend. I'll figure something out.

Well, that’'s all the news my way. I hope all is going great for you.
