IT'S FRIDAY, MY FAVORITE DAY!!

We have been doing our thing down here, busy with the church project and trying to get some yard work done between rain showers.

Speaking of rain, since last weekend would have been the Portland Rose Festival parade, of course it always rains during the parade. Nothing new there! Except that there was no parade this year, but someone forgot to tell the weatherman! So far for the month of June, we have had more rain than February, March or April! It feels like a wet spring!

Speaking of yard work, I managed to get outside on a couple of occasions but I am not making a lot of progress. The weeds keep growing! The garden is growing too, so that is a good thing.

Luis Kitchen Dave and Luis have been diligently working on the church project. The sheetrock is almost done and some of the taping. Dave has been getting the wiring finished so there will be plenty of lights and heat. Leslie and Jason made another trip to Wheeler to deliver the refrigerator and kitchen cabinets that we had purchased in Salem over the weekend. We went back to the building material bargain center where we had purchased some decking and siding in the past. Actually, they went there and we got to sit at home on Facetime and let them do all the work. That's a great way to shop! Anyway, we got the cabinets at a pretty reasonable price but they have to be painted. Another project to add to the list!

Dave has been documenting the project on YouTube and you can watch it by clicking on the arrow at the center of the picture.

We made a trip into the VA on Monday as Dave had to get lab work and a follow-up with his prostate doctor. The place was empty! Lots of parking too. With this Covid19, they aren't taking any chances and are keeping people away if necessary. The Oncologist didn't have good news but it has been worse. His PSA level has gone up from .1 to .4. The doctor wasn't too concerned but it still put a damper in our day. On Tuesday, he had another appointment with his regular VA doctor but we got to stay home for that. Dave linked up with him over the computer and talked to him that way. I think that will be the future as it sure saves us travel time to and from the valley.

Camper Leslie and Jason went clam digging on Sunday and they camped in their new pick-up camper. They got 35 clams! On the way home, they stopped by our place to show us their new purchase. Wow! It has three slide-outs, a California queen bed, air conditioning and two televisions! It sure doesn't look like the campers we used to have back in the day!

We are still staying safe and healthy and hope you are the same.
