IT'S FRIDAY, MY FAVORITE DAY!!

Jan Hi everybody from a safe 6-feet away. How is everybody doing with this confinement so far? I am getting depressed. I've cleaned the house, read my book and managed to stay home except to get the mail and go grocery shopping. I have been working out in the greenhouse working on some starter plants of tomatoes, cucumbers and pumpkins. I had started them from seed in the house but they seem to be doing better out in the greenhouse, more sunlight. I have been working out in the yard and got a few flower beds cleaned up and some annuals planted. It is a little early to plant my vegetable garden as the ground isn't warm enough.

I dread going to the store these days. There is nothing on the shelves that I can use. All of the basics are gone - no rice, flour or yeast and forget about cleaning and disinfecting products. It is really depressing. I use my own bags so I have to fill them myself' which takes twice as long.

Collage We have had Luis and his crew (Rigo and his wife Anna) down here most of the week. They spend most of their day outside and I have been cooking for them. Luis has been fixing windows for the front of the church. Instead of the one window that was originally there, we decided to put two windows in the front to bring in more light and also to see the view. He also put insulation on the walls upstairs for the grandgirls to have a place to "hang-out" when they come down. One of the Cubans is sanding and painting the steamboat. Dave and Rigo got the steam engine to start and so it won't be long before they will test it in the water. Unfortunately, the boat launch is closed so we have to wait until the officials open it back up again.

Super Moon Did you get a chance to see the Super Moon the other night? It was so huge and Dave got some great pictures.

Mickey I have been missing the neighbor's cat, Sophie who always comes around. Anyway, she finally showed up the other day and it looked like she had been attacked by some animal. All the hair on the bottom of her tail was cut off and she had a bite mark on her rear. She looks so funny with her new hair style. Anyway, I am glad she is on the mend and wasn't hurt worse.

Yesterday was our granddaughter, Paige's 18th birthday. Boy, how time flies. She is in limbo between her time at West Salem High School and the University of Oregon. She is in limbo because, fortunately for her, she is done at West Salem as she had enough hours to graduate in December. I sure feel sorry for the senior class of 2020 with no graduation this spring since the Governor cancelled school for the rest of the season. So instead of starting as a freshman right now, Paige will instead begin classes at the U of O this fall.

Well, that's all the "exciting" news around here. Keep healthy and pray this pandemic will pass soon and they lift the "stay at home" rule.
