IT'S FRIDAY, MY FAVORITE DAY!!

Happy Leap Year everyone! It looks like another month has gone by and so fast too!

It's been a busy week (I know, I say that a lot). This week, we had to make two trips into the valley for doctor appointments. Dave on Monday with three appointments at the VA Hospital, one for blood draw and a shot for his cancer treatment and also he saw two oncologists. The shot seems to be working just fine as his PSA numbers are way down. The next day it was back into town again, this time for both of us. I had a doctor's appointment first thing in the morning in Tillamook and then we drove into St. Vincent's for Dave's neurologist visit followed by my urologist appointment. Everything is fine with both of us so we are good to go until the next round. We like to "bundle" our appointments if we can because it's a long drive from the coast.

Wake

After we finished up with our appointments on Tuesday, I dropped Dave off at the Leaky Roof Pub where he was meeting up with old radio friends. One of their coworkers had passed away and they were getting together to have a "wake" and to reminisce about old times.
Jordyn

After I dropped him off, I headed over to West Linn to pick up granddaughter No. 5 (Jordyn) for a belated birthday shopping and dinner at Red Robin. We went to Bridgeport Village where she looked at clothes. She came out with a denim skirt and shorts. She likes going to Red Robin where she always has endless helpings of mac and cheese. After we finished, I dropped her off at home and went to pick up Dave in Portland and then headed to the coast. It was 8:30 by the time we pulled in the driveway. It was a long day.

Jordyn

Jadyn

While I am thinking about it, our birthday girl, Jordyn is on a cheerleading team and they placed first in their state competition. So proud of my little cheerleader. And her big sister Jadyn and her dance company competed against a ton of other groups and came in a highly respectable fourth. Love these girls and their talent!

Paige

We got an invitation for a graduation party for our granddaughter Paige, who will be graduating from West Salem High School early. She is headed for U of O in April to play soccer for the Ducks. Before she leaves for the University, the family is taking a cruise to Bermuda during spring break. Jan

The weather has been really nice this week and it gave me an opportunity to get some pruning done around the yard. I also got together with the Wheeler Weeders (that's what we call ourselves) and spent some time in the park pruning and fertilizing the roses. Things are really blooming, the birds are singing and the sun is shining around here and you can tell that spring is just around the corner. Cubans

Rigo

Luis and his crew have been down most of the week so I have been preparing meals for them. They are almost done with the neighbor's house and they have also been helping around our house. I discovered a leak in the basement window from all the rain we have had and so they set up a drain to collect the water so it doesn't come through the window. It was nice to see one of the crew members, Rigo who had been visiting family in Cuba and has now returned to do some more work for Luis. Rigo is a pretty good at repairing any kind of machine and when my vacuum quit working the other day, Dave gave Rigo a challenge to see if he could figure it out. An hour later, my vacuum was working perfectly! He also helped Dave work on the steamboat. They didn't get very far because there were a number of things that required some extra time, but Rigo has already committed to coming back on a Saturday to spend the day working on the boat.

Cake

Dave has been keeping busy with another play performance in a couple of weeks. It is a "readers" theater so he doesn't have to do any memorizing. The play this time is "Take Three" and is made up of three short plays in one evening's performance. Earlier this week we went to an event celebrating the Riverbend Players, past and present and we had more to eat than we probably should have - including this beautiful cake which was very, very good!

Dog

A crazy thing happened last night before I fed the guys. Right after they had painted part of my deck, a little shaggy dog traipsed across the freshly painted surface and then walked across the walkway with his wet-painted feet! I was fit to be tied! I raced out and caught the culprit out on the street. The little guy was a stranger in our neighborhood and after checking with all the neighbors - I brought him home. It looks like he's been on his own for a while, his fur is all matted and he needed a bath. So I cleaned him up and tried to keep him separated from the cats. I should take him to the pound in Tillamook tomorrow, but we'll see how things go.

Well, that's all our way.
