IT'S FRIDAY, MY FAVORITE DAY!!

Can somebody please turn the rain off? We had 4 inches of rain in a 24-hour period on Wednesday and the flooding has begun in some parts. We are high and dry but it is hard to go anywhere without running into a place where the water is overflowing its banks. Roads and pastureland are all flooded, especially at high tide.

We left on Tuesday morning for the valley as Dave had an appointment with his doctor for a final okay on his neck surgery. Dave is real pleased with the outcome and so was the doctor.

We had a lunch date with our daughter Lara, but she had to cancel. She and Jordyn were under the weather so instead of lunch, we decided to spend some time at the Apple Store.
Jan’s watch

We had decided that I needed to have an Apple Watch like Dave has. One of the reasons was that last week, Dave was working outside when he fell. Luckily, he wasn't hurt but his watch felt the jar and asked him if he was okay. He had a few seconds to respond before the watch would send out an SOS. We felt that I needed that feature as I am prone to falling. So after spending a couple of hours getting the information transferred from my i-Phone to my Apple Watch, I was good to go. I haven't worn a watch in years so I am going to have to get used to the idea but so far, I am really impressed how it works. It has a number of watch faces available and I picked the Minnie Mouse one for now. Dave has Mickey Mouse to match my watch.

We were planning to spend the night with Leslie and Jason in Salem, so after our watch purchase, we headed to their place. Dave had made a garbage can holder for her kitchen, one the dogs couldn't get into. So we brought that along with us. Unfortunately, it was too small. So Leslie picked out a larger receptacle and he is now making her a bigger one.
Paige on Offense

Paige on Defense

Paige was also playing in a basketball game that night and we wanted to watch her play. She finished up with her high school studies and at the end of March, she will start at the University of Oregon as a Duck and play soccer for them. It's a big step for her but I know that she will fit in.

I spent most of last week cooking for the Cubans, so it was a nice break to get away from doing that. They will be back sometime this week, so it will be back to cooking. I don't mind too much; it is just that I never know until the last minute how many will be here and it is hard to plan ahead as most of the food is frozen and I have to allow for it to thaw out first. I just never know when they will show up as a lot of it depends on the weather. They are finishing a roof and it's hard to do in the rain and wind.

That's about all that is happening down here. I sure wish spring was here.
