IT’S FRIDAY, MY FAVORITE DAY!!

Jan

Jan

Isn't this weather amazing! I have enjoyed being outside working in the yard all week. I got my "two" gardens planted too. The one here at the house with the usual array of veggies and the other one at the Community Garden where I experimented with pumpkins, squash, cucumbers and a tomato plant. I want to see if the tomato plant in the Community Garden grows better, as it is exposed to sun all day versus the tomatoes that I planted against the metal boat barn here at home.

Diners

We had our Second Sunday Soup get together but we had it on Saturday night this time and instead of "soup" we had Pork Wellington. All the food was great and of course we always enjoy the company. After we arrived back at our place, Dave's cousin, Marta and her husband, Gene were here. They had been to an art show in Cannon Beach and had arranged to spend the night with us. We chatted for awhile but were in bed by 10:00. The next morning, I fixed breakfast for everyone and we chatted some more before they left for home at Tierra del Mar.

When I don't have him doing chores and running errands for me, Dave has spent most of his time working on the steamboat. He is trying to get a paint spray-gun to work as the burner for the boiler so he can steam it up. Ray was over a couple of times to help but so far it has been a slow process.

We also had our friend, Luis Santiago drop by. He is our other contractor and said that he would be available to work on a couple of projects that have been on "hold" for awhile. He is going to paint that '70's paneling in the living area because it is so dark in there. Even with all the big windows we have, that dark paneling just seems to soak up the light. He is also going to replace the boards on our deck and stain them as well. I hope this happens soon, but you never know with him. I was just happy to see him.

This is a busy weekend coming up. Not only is it Mother's Day, but we have three birthdays to celebrate too. Leslie's birthday is Saturday, Jaysa will be 14 on Mother's Day and Jason's birthday is Monday, so a lot to celebrate. We are going into West Linn for Mother's Day so I am looking forward to seeing all the granddaughters and the whole family for that matter.

Happy, Mother's Day to all you mothers out there, enjoy your day!
