IT'S FRIDAY, MY FAVORITE DAY!!

Happy May to you! It is so nice to see all the flowers in bloom and the sun shining once more. We have had beautiful weather down here at the coast and lovely sunsets.

It's been one of those weeks where it seems like I spent a lot of time going to the doctor. Last week I had a gall bladder attack. So on Monday I was scheduled for an ultrasound and then on Wednesday I had a doctor's appointment to check that out. My gall bladder has a few pebbles in it but the doctor didn't seem too concerned about it. She said if I have another attack that she will have it removed. I sure hope that doesn't happen again as it was very uncomfortable. While I was in the doctor's office, she gave me another steroid shot in my knee as the arthritis was bothering me again. It couldn't be because I have been overworking myself in the yard, could it? Ha! Ha!

I went to one plant sale over the weekend and came home with a tomato plant. I am itching to plant my vegetable garden but this week we had night temperatures in the thirties, so I am glad I am holding off.

On Tuesday, I talked my friend, Donna Kahrs into going with me to a neat nursery in Scappoose that has some really nice plants that are cheap. It is a two-hour trip down there and no direct route. From my place we had to take Highway 26 east to Timber Junction and then head north to Vernonia then down to Hwy. 30 to Scappoose. It's a nice drive but a long way to go alone, so I invited her along. Anyway, we ended spending most of the day doing that; we had a lot of fun at the nursery and came home with my car loaded with lots of plants to put in the planters.

Eagle

Tuesday evening, we were invited down to Kahrs' for refreshments and ended up eating leftovers with them. While we were eating out on the wharf, we were entertained by an eagle flying above the bay looking for his dinner. He flew around the bay for several minutes taking deep dives when he spotted something in the water allowing us to snap pictures before he headed for the trees. What a sight to see, they are such magnificent birds.

We are having guests Saturday night. Dave's cousin Marta and her husband, Gene are taking in an art show in Cannon Beach and they asked to spend the night as it would have been a long drive back to their home in Tierra del Mar. We also are having our Sunday Soup gathering this weekend, so lots going on.

Dave has been busy working on the steamboat. He gets one thing replaced and then he finds something else to repair. As they say about owning a steamboat; there is always something to replace or repair and all it takes is time and money. He still is hoping to get the boat up and steaming and in the water before July 4th and luckily he has the help of his friend Ray who enjoys coming over to help. When the two of them get their heads together, they can usually find the problem.

Have a great week!
