IT'S FRIDAY, MY FAVORITE DAY!!

Onion Peak

Snow

The weather has been crazy this week! We would have a nice sunny day and then we would wake up to snow on the ground! It's beautiful to look at but I have been staying indoors most of the time as the east wind makes it seem colder than it is. So I have been reading a lot.

We had to go into town on Tuesday as I had a doctor's appointment. I had cancelled my appointment earlier because of the weather and sure wasn't going to cancel it again. Luckily, the roads were clear and there wasn't much traffic. My appointment was at 10:00 a.m. so we had to get up early to make the 2-hour trip. I had to get my bladder checked for any tumors which may have returned since the last time I was in. Nothing was found, so I don't have to go back in to see the doctor for 18 months! Yahoo!!

I am busy attending lectures on the local history around here. The lectures are twice a week (Monday and Thursday) for three weeks and are put on by the Nehalem Bay Historical Society. Last Monday was our first lecture and it was about the local Native American tribes who were here before the explorers arrived and yesterday was about the early settlers in the Nehalem Bay area - very interesting.

I am adjusting to my new 2019 Jeep which I picked up last Friday. I haven't been driving it much because of the weather, but so far so good. It has so many "bells and whistles" on it that it practically drives itself! I think I'm going to have to have an engineering degree to figure everything out.

Dave, with the help of his friend, Ray got the new track mounted for the sliding door on the church. Now he can open it with his little finger! It needed a new track as the old one was about 45 years old and was really hard to slide open and closed. In fact, the roller finally got stuck and he couldn't get the door open at all. Dave also got all the plugs and switches replaced in the house. The new ones are white with flat surfaces, so we are now more up-to-date.

We are meeting up with Dave's cousin, Marta and her husband Gene for dinner tonight to celebrate Marta's birthday. We're going to be going to Rosanna's in Oceanside. We haven't been there in years - I hope it's still as good as it once was.

Well, that's the news down here. Hope you are staying warm and safe from the weather in your area. It's March and Spring should be just around the corner.
