IT'S FRIDAY, MY FAVORITE DAY!!

Collage

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas, we sure did. On Sunday, we drove over to Salem and celebrated a couple days early with the family. Jason fixed us a nice dinner of prime rib with all the trimmings. What a feast, he is such a great cook. Afterwards we opened gifts and I got some nice things, a hand painted sign reading "Jan's Garden" for me and "Dave's Workshop" for Dave from our granddaughter, Jadyn, some dish cloths, a family picture of my granddaughters and a cover for my HoseLink that I got last summer from everybody for my birthday. Dave got a gift certificate from Home Depot which he already knows what he is going to get with it. He also got a glass vial with liquid in it that is supposed to forecast the weather. It needs a couple of weeks to "acclimate" so we'll see. All the gifts that we had bought were enjoyed by all.

Sterling

The Alexanders have a new addition to their family - the cutest puppy I have ever seen - a Silver Labrador Retriever and they named him Sterling Blue. Jason ordered him about 6 weeks ago and he had to pick him up at the airport as he was flown in from Little Rock, Arkansas. Everyone was surprised as he had kept it a secret. Old Chip, their Chocolate Lab is getting up there in age, so he decided to get a replacement, just in case.

We had an early dinner at the Alexander's, as Ashtin had to be at work late that afternoon. She has a part-time job at Safeway while she is going to school. The early dinner fell right in with our plans as that allowed us to drive home before dark. We almost made it - It was just getting to be "headlight time" as be pulled in the driveway.

Family

For breakfast Christmas morning, I made eggnog French toast and with a little imagination, I made a reindeer from the scrambled eggs and bacon. Later that day, Lara and the girls drove down to spend the day with us. I fixed a turkey dinner and made a chocolate pie. I put little lighted candles on each plate to give it a festive look. It was such a beautiful day that the girls headed for the beach for awhile before they drove back to West Linn. It's always fun to have them come down.

My granddaughter, Jadyn flies to San Diego this weekend for the Holiday Bowl. She will dance during the half-time show. She sprained her ankle a couple of weeks ago but that is not going to stop her. She loves to dance and has been looking forward to this event for months.

I must report that I went back to the new podiatrist last week and the warts are all gone! He had prescribed this magic wart cream and duct tape and within a week they had disappeared. You know how long I have been dealing with those darn warts, so it was the best Christmas present that I could have received! Meanwhile, when I got home there was a message from my first podiatrist who said that the "yeast" injection had arrived and that I should make an appointment to come in for the shot. I don't think so!

We have nothing planned for New Year's Eve celebration and will probably be in bed before midnight. But that's okay, I have been there and done that before. I decided to make one resolution and that is to try and lose the 10 pounds that I have gained since the holidays! It's also back to the water aerobics class too.
