IT'S FRIDAY, MY FAVORITE DAY!!

I have been trying to keep myself busy around here, but with this boot and wheelchair keeping me in tow, it is limiting. I was able to stay with a 9-year-old from the neighborhood while his mother was tied up at a meeting on Tuesday. That turned out to be not so much of a challenge though because he walked in, saw the jigsaw puzzle that has been driving me crazy and spent most of the rest of the evening working at that!

The weather finally changed to more spring-like and I would love to be outside, but not to be for a couple of weeks. I did buy some geraniums and fuchsia starts but they are still in their little containers waiting for me to plant. I did notice that my snow peas and sweet peas are starting to sprout so I am thankful I was able to get those planted before I broke my ankle.

Jan shopping

We had to make a run into Hillsboro as I had a teeth cleaning appointment with my dentist. Since we were in town, we stopped at Freddy's and picked up a few things I needed. I got to drive around the store in one of their little electric carts and I managed not to run anyone over too! Dave had to walk around the store behind me helping me to get things I couldn't reach off the shelves though. He likes it better when I order online and then all he has to do is go pick it up! That is more convenient, but sometimes I like to look around in the store while I am shopping. Besides, I REALLY needed to get out and do something other than sit in my chair at home.

On the way home from Hillsboro to go back to the Coast, Dave was getting sleepy behind the wheel, so we stopped and I took over. This is the first time I have driven since I broke my ankle and since it was my left ankle, I didn't have to use it to drive. Again, we made it home without me running into anyone.

Jake

So proud of my granddaughter, Jadyn! She is a freshman at West Linn High School and got her letter at the end of the competition season. She is on the varsity dance team and does really well. She has worked hard all school year and is already trying out for the team next season.
Another granddaughter, Paige, is not only playing soccer but in her spare time is on the West Salem High School track team. Yesterday, she came in first in the individual hurdles with a personal best time and got another best ever time in another event - the 300 meter hurdles, taking three seconds off her old mark. As a result, she is going compete in a big invitational meet next week. She gets her hurdle genes from her mother. Leslie lettered in hurdles when she was in high school.

I am counting the days (May 1st) when I go back to the doctor to see when I can get this boot off and start walking again.
