IT'S FRIDAY, MY FAVORITE DAY!!

Collage We had a pleasant surprise over the weekend with the visit from Leslie, Jason and Jason's mom, Connie. They came down to relax and Jason wanted to try out his new gear that he had gotten for fishing. We didn't have very nice weather, but it gave them a chance to unwind. On Saturday, Jason had fished with some friends down at Pacific City. Then he drove back to Salem, picked up Leslie and Connie and drove back to the coast. They made it here in time for dinner. Then on Sunday, Jason and Leslie went up Highway 53 to the Nehalem River Fish Hatchery. There's a very nice Steelhead fishing hole just below the hatchery and Jay did some fishing. He didn't catch anything, but they had a great time. The granddaughters didn't come down here this time. I miss seeing them, but they are so busy at being teenagers.

Collage I didn't do much most of the week except watch the snow falling and check on the temperatures. We had a few inches of snow over the course of the week but each time it snowed, it quickly melted after it warmed up. However, we did cancel all our appointments this week as we would have had to drive over the Coast Range to get to them and we just didn't want the stress of dealing with the snow and ice on the roads between here and the valley. Dave missed his appointments with the Lymphedema specialist but I massaged his legs and helped him with his compression socks. Darn those socks are hard to get on and off! It looks like we'll have a break in the weather today, so we may make a quick trip into town to start getting caught up on those missed appointments. I'm sure that next week we will be driving into town again to stay on Dave's treatment schedule. Besides, Dave has another appointment to start taking his shots again for his Prostate Cancer. The PSA level is starting to creep up again and his oncologist doesn't want it to get out of control again.

Panorama With my cupboards getting bare, I finally drove down to Tillamook on Thursday to get groceries. We woke up to this scene again but the temperature got above freezing and the roads were bare, so off I went. I want to get started buying my groceries online where all I have to do is go pick them up, but I haven't mastered that program on the computer. Besides, I still have to drive 50 miles round trip to pick up the stuff.

Well, I know this is a short entry this week, but nothing else exciting is happening in my part of the world.
