IT'S FRIDAY, MY FAVORITE DAY!!

It's been another busy week. Leanna's son, Dean and his wife Brenda came down over the weekend (Dean stayed all week) and moved Leanna to her new retirement home in Forest Grove. They took two trailer loads to get all of her stuff moved and there is still lots left! The left over stuff will either go to Luke or to Cart'm as a donation. It was a hard weekend for them, but everything went by smoothly. While they were busy working I did my share by cooking the meals so they wouldn't have to. Leanna seems to be adjusting to her new place and has already made friends with other women who have invited her to eat at their table in the dining room. She is on the second floor and has a little balcony which overlooks the courtyard and fountain.

On Monday, I borrowed a pressure washer from our friend Ray and got busy washing down the garage and house next door. I also washed the cement slab between the house and the garage. Since some of the paint came off while power washing the house, we decided it would be best to have a coat of paint applied to the outside. We knew we were going to have to put some money into the house as we prepare to sell it, but we were hoping we could avoid a paint job. Oh well... Speaking of paint, we got the paint for the inside walls and we will start that job in the near future - before the new carpet is installed.

Let's see, I have also been pulling weeds in the flower bed and spreading mulch around the plants over at that house. As soon as the weather gets a little nicer, I will spray the driveway for weeds and order a load of gravel. Dave is also going to get the tractor out and make a decent pathway to the front door instead of having to walk on the grass. We intended to do many years ago when we replaced the walkway to our back door with pavers. We took the stepping stones out and they are still over there, so all we have to do is make a path, put in some gravel and lay in our old stepping stones. I think we will have no trouble selling the place once we get it spruced up.

I am about to build an ark with all the rain that we have had. Someone figured out that this calendar year, we have had rain on an average of seven out every 10 days. Needless to say, every day that the sun shines, it is like heaven and I am out the door working in the yard. This weekend is supposed to be great, so that's where you'll find me until the rain returns! There are a couple of plant sales coming up and that will really put me in the mood. The Master Gardener's plant sale is a week from Saturday and so I will be busy helping with that. It is usually takes three days to get ready for the one day sale, but we draw a lot of people.

Dave has been busy making modules for his new workbench in his work shop. It is getting there and so far it really looks great. He makes one module at a time and then fits it in the chosen spot. He also makes them as he gets the plywood. Lots of times he has been lucky to find a sheet or two over at the recycle center which has helped a lot. Otherwise, that stuff is real expensive if you have to buy it new!
