IT'S FRIDAY, MY FAVORITE DAY!!

Nothing too new happening this week, it has been one of those lazy weeks.

We spent a lot of travel time running back and forth to Tillamook this week. Monday, I had to put in some office hours at the Master Gardeners office. There were three of us there and not much to do except chat and read through some of the gardening books. We are supposed to work from 12:30 to 4:30, but we got to leave at 4:00 because it was so slow.

It was back into Tillamook on Tuesday as Dave and I both had doctor's appointments. Dave had a follow-up and to check to see how his wrist was healing. The doctor took off the dressing and the half-splint and handed him a brace to protect his arm while he is in public. You just never know who might come up and want to shake his hand or something. Anyway, it was the first time he has seen the arm since the accident in June and he was pretty pumped up about it! That is, he was - until he discovered that the wrist is still as stiff as when he was in the cast. So now it's a couple of months of Physical Therapy to get it loosened up. We had a couple of hours to kill before my doctor's appointment so we wandered the aisles of the lumber supply store and then a trip down to Freddies to pick up a few things at the grocery store. I was into see my doctor to get my thyroid checked. I was put on some new medication and so we will see how that works. My doctor recently married and is expecting a baby. I hope she doesn’t decide to leave so I won't have to find someone new because I really like her.

Thursday, another trip to Tillamook for an appointment with Dave's physical therapist. He will be going into the PT twice a week for two weeks and then once a week for four weeks. His therapist seemed nice and very competent as well. She went over some exercises that he is to do three times a day and home we came.

We have heard from our daughter Leslie and family. They are having a great vacation in LA and San Diego. The girls were playing in a basketball tournament in Anaheim and while they were there, they went to Knott's Berry Farm, Harry Potter World and Sea World. Harry was an absolute "must see" for Ashtin. Now it is off to San Diego where Paige has been invited to play soccer in a tournament. They will head back home after that. We traded cars with them and I am sure our car has added more miles than their's. Their car has been parked in our garage all week. We did take it out once just to make sure the battery wasn't going dead. Dave still can't drive so we haven't needed two cars.

The fishing season has begun down here but we haven't seen anyone catch anything. Some friends of ours went fishing outside the bar in the ocean and caught some pretty nice looking salmon. So they're out there, just not in our neighborhood yet.

Finally, after 8 months, our Post Office in Wheeler is going to open up. It got flooded last December and has been closed for repairs. Well, we think it was more for politics than repairs. I think it would have taken even longer but luckily, Senator Merkley was in town and really got on the Post Master General about taking so long to reopen. I am really happy to see it open as driving over to Nehalem to pick up our mail has been a real inconvenience.

Sorry this is short this week, maybe next week will be more eventful.
