IT'S FRIDAY, MY FAVORITE DAY!!

We are sure enjoying this nice sunny weather and I am glad March left like a lamb as it sure came in like a lion. We recorded 16" of rain for the month and it sure is nice to see some spring weather.

The weather has enabled me to work out in the yard. With all of the wind, rain and thunder we had, there were a lot of limbs that had blown down. I guess it is Mother Nature's way of pruning. So between picking up all the debris and pulling weeds, I have been outside as much as I can.

I also got my dirty windows washed. So now that the sun is shining, it makes everything look brighter from the inside looking out.

Mike

Dave had an interesting day last Friday. He had arranged with the Manzanita Police Department to go for a ride-along with the local law enforcement. Most of the time it is just giving citations for speeding but on that day, they got a call that a girl was injured on the beach. She was horseback riding and the horse had fallen on her and broke her leg. She had fallen in the ocean and was soaking wet besides. They had to take the patrol car several miles down the beach where the sand was soft, dodging people and driftwood to rescue her. The policeman told Dave he could come with him anytime because that was more excitement that he had had for a long time.

Girls

We drove into West Linn on Saturday and then down to Salem on Sunday to have Easter with the family. Lara's family just got back from a couple of days on the mountain and so they were busy unpacking and getting ready for Easter. That meant dying Easter eggs, which is quite an artistic display for the girls. Leslie not only had our side of the family over for dinner, but Jason's Mom and sister with her boys were invited, so there was quite a house full. Jason fixed a big ham and also lamb so we had a great meal. In fact, we were so full, that the next morning, breakfast didn't even sound good.

On the beach

Since the pool has been closed for a couple of weeks because the boiler is broken, Dave and I have decided to take up walking. The first couple of times we walked on the beach and then to downtown Wheeler. We are trying to average one to two miles each time. With this weather so nice, it is ideal for walking. I don't know what will happen when it starts to rain again, I guess we will have to get the old treadmill going.

This weekend we have plans to go back into town. We are spending the night in West Salem with Leslie's family and then on Saturday, Lara is going to meet Leslie and me in Aurora for the Gardenpalooza show. They have all kinds of plants and garden art displayed. Then after that, I will go home with Lara as Jadyn's birthday is this weekend and we have a date to go shopping and dinner at Red Robin. Jadyn will be a teenager, so a new world will be opening for her.
