IT'S FRIDAY, MY FAVORITE DAY!!

Happy Friday the 13th to all of you that are superstitious. I hope we all have a nice uneventful day!

The sun finally made an appearance after having four days of non-stop buckets of rain. It was raining so hard that our gutters couldn't keep up with all the water and we had a waterfall coming off our roof! The cats didn't like it much either and stayed close to the house. Although we have wide eaves on the house, they stayed as close as they could to avoid getting wet.

But, now the sun is shining on us once more and we had a high temperature of 61 degrees yesterday. It made us all want to get outside and work in the yard even though the soil is way too wet. Every time I pull up a weed, a lot of dirt comes with it. We had a work party down at the park on Wednesday and did some cleanup by pruning and weed pulling.

The only thing that was going on this week was that a guy came by and picked up our very old refrigerator that Dave had been using out in the boat barn. We bought this frig for $15.00 when we first got married nearly 50 years ago and it was old even then. We told the guy we thought it was at least 70 years old and it had quit only last year. I think we got our money's worth. Anyway, the guy wants to convert it to use as a meat smoker. It was all metal (no plastic on those old Philcos) and that's what he was looking for. As they say, one man's junk is another man's treasure. Speaking of junk and treasure, Dave traded the Philco for a wireless telephone gadget that is supposed to make the house phone work out in the barn with no additional wiring. I'll believe that when I hear it! Meanwhile, the day before the guy came by to pick it up, Dave was out in the boat barn using a dolly to move this heavy refrigerator by himself, when it fell over and landed on his leg. He was lucky he didn't break it! His leg, I mean - not the refrigerator. So Dave has been hobbling around here since then and hasn't felt like doing much and he's still pretty mad at himself for letting it happen.

We are going into town the first part of the week to have a family belated "birthday party" for Jordyn. She turned seven the first of February and since Monday is "Presidents Day" and all the girls are out of school that day, we are getting together. I got Jordyn a gift while in Phoenix which was a new swimming suit and flip-flops to match. She loved them. I still have a date with her to take her to Red Robin for the celebration and hopefully we will be able to do that Monday night.

We are spending that night in town as Dave has to get a PET scan and blood test before he meets with his Oncologist on Tuesday. He hasn't had a PET scan for over a year and they want to check everything to make sure he doesn't have any problems. We will be heading back to the coast right after that as he has a City Council meeting that night.

I hope everyone has a very nice Valentine's Day on Saturday. We usually just exchange cards as Dave is my valentine all year round and he knows how much I love him.
